Well, I just got to my actual line company today. Managed to make a damn good impression on my chain of command at both company and platoon levels. Also, we're doing Gunnery on the Bradleys soon. So be advised I might be dropping off in three weeks for three weeks as we're in the field fucking with big ol' guns. Well, the crews are fucking with big ol' guns. I see where you're coming from, but it's like I mentioned earlier--Blackjack grew up socially awkward, virtually friendless, and generally self-loathing and pathetic (that's, uh......hell of an OC, Somber......) so most of her problems stem not from gender roles, but from being a fucked-in-the-dome weirdo with suicidal tendencies and self-obsessive/destructive behavior. Her trying to "pleasure dicks" is likely more a matter of her trying to pleasure her partner so he'll like her and she can have another friend (having not developed a horrible and flat relationship with Stygius first as she did with Glory). As for the slang, that's not any malicious intent on Somber's part, it's just lack of thought put into the matter. Which, on one hand, is understandable, considering you've got an entire world to write with approximately way-too-fucking-many characters, like nineteen motherfucking opposing factions, and an absolutely labyrinthine and far-fetched plot to worry about, and only like 37 million goddamn words to write it all in. On the other hand, it's the main character--the character the goddamn world revolves around--it's her background. It's the culture she grew up in and the one that molded who she became. Kinda fucking pointless to give this big, elaborate backstory with a strange and unusual culture and then take that fucking nowhere. That's about 97,000 fucking words padding out the titanic story for no damn reason.

Yeah, but like said: Where the hell does BJ come from? We're given no clues to where the hell she grew up or how she was raised to become what she is. She just is placed in a environment she has no relation to. It's like she's an alien beamed into that stable to explore equine life, replacing the real BJ.
And yes... because being a willing cumdump to be used by a male is clearly be best way to get over trauma of being used for male pleasure. And trying to make a friend with said selfish, incompetent male was clearly her top priority at the time. Focusing on not kicking his balls in as he used her. Great plan BJ, great plan. Like the enclave, she goes with whatever first stupid idea hops into her head, not even giving a second thought to any safer or less "all or nothing" ideas. Atop that, then apologizing to said male for letting him use her as his own personal sex toy for his amusement, it was selfish of her... wat? Again, WHAT planet is she from?
And yeah... like said, you could cut out like, 3-8 chapters worth or something, and it wouldn't affect the story for shit, and it'd even make a whole lot more sense. Like, BJ's personality wouldn't contradict her entire being and education. It's in a way, like padding out that there's gonna be an elf named "Legolas" and a dwarf named "Gimli" into the Bilbo movies. And that because of what happens in those movies, it's why Boromir dies, and why Frodo is betrayed. That's about how much sense BJ's backstory makes.
