Oh, by all means, I'd rather they quit now than quit in a firefight. It's just fucking astounding to me that so many fucking people can't handle the simple, easy shit that they're entrusted to do. This is Basic Training for a reason--it's fucking basic. The hardest thing anyone is asked to do is briskly walk a few miles with a heavy backpack. Just training at a duty station is twice as hard, though you're treated like a soldier instead of, well, a private--though, if that's the big factor, then we have to consider that we)'de a society that breeds people who can't fucking abide by not having their cell phones whenever they want, or sleeping and eating whenever the fuck they want, or wearing whatever the fuck they want, or just, basically, doing the basic goddamn job they're being paid, housed, clothed, and fed to fucking do.

We kind of have the same problem here, though less marked. Not that our people are statistically any better, just that our training is a bit less... demanding.

One thing I'll agree with: I've never seen so many dumbfucks since I've joined. This gives me a better understanding of just what state our society is in when I see the kind of people who get past the initial selection tests to get here.

It get increasingly scarier when you think these people are supposed to become NCOs, and a number of them will be trusted with maintaining aircrafts...

It sounds to me like you guys are trained like most of the Army is trained--a strict Basic followed by a more relaxed Advanced training. Infantry, Cav Scouts, Tankers, and MP's, though, go through OSUT, which means you're in Basic the whole damn time.

I'm currently sitting almost butt-naked in my room (I just have my underpants on), my feet on the table, while I'm typing this message on my computer. Behind me one of my comrade is watching Game of Thrones on his laptop. And another one is watching The Walking Dead on his phone.



This'll seem strange to a number of people, but I can't wait for this to stop. Being paid to do nothing isn't all that it's cracked up to be, especially when everyone treat you like shit BECAUSE they see you as wankers.
