Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
Fuck, you're right. Now that I think about it isn't there a terminology for this problem called blasting or something similar in which a gas or such that you want to deploy has a problem of not being adequately doing so in a explosion? Then that would mean that such a idea would only work if we knew about a potential nuclear attack in the first place. The question is then how would you spray it at the correct place and time so as to both be caught in the blast and prevent the radioactive fallout from reaching the upper atmosphere. Damn, I'll give you that one cause that's a toughy.CamoBadger wrote:That's not what I'm saying. In the detonation I was talking about, the bomb never gets to the ground, it doesn't kick up dust. It detonates in the upper atmosphere after launch.
This could work if we can manage to get it right.
Even though I don't really see an issue since right now the prediction is that the temperature increase in the next 90 years is only about 3.6F.
While 3.6F doesn't sound like a lot you have to keep in mind the change in temperature isn't the same at the equator as it is at the poles. On the equator you would be going, "Global warming? What's that" whereas if you lived far up north or south you would be going, "FUCK IT'S HOT! I'M GOING TO DIE!". Also that there's a lot of carbon trapped in the tundra and that as the earth warms up we're potentially looking at a accelerated warming that we're not exactly sure of how much it will add onto that warming cause it's a unknown variable. The best course of action would be to release just enough to offset how much carbon dioxide we're putting into the atmosphere yearly so that unknown variable doesn't come into play, cause if the amount of co2 that is trapped in the tundra is a lot then we're screwed in the long run regardless.

For me, the earth getting hotter just reminds me of home.
That's why I celebrate Earth Day with old tires and kerosene.

Well, their course of action was worth a shot, but they'll have to cross those methods off their list of options. If they don't, then Twilight will have to hammer the non-lethal option into their heads. Whatever the solution is, I'm sure they'll nail, and if I'm wrong, then they'll just have to wing it.

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
Well, I finally got around to watching the new episode. I'd normally do a more in-depth devouring review, but it's like three in the damn morning and I've got important shit on my schedule*, so I'll keep it short.
Fluttershy is once again in "always right and a paragon of virtue, but an utterly spineless little craven POGina." Which is the absolute nadir of an already horrible character.
The humor, or attempts thereof, was even more flat and boring than their attempt at a "vampire".
And no episode would be complete without Twilight killing any sort of tension or intelligence the plot might have had with the simple phrase "I found a spell that....."
*It rhymes with "questionably legal cornography"

Eh, personally I think season 4 is better than season 3 so far.

@Iron (Melodic Death Metal)
Ah, melodeath. The '90s saw a lot of strange things appear; melodeath was perhaps the least crappy of the commercially-viable strange things, at least when it started. For my part I think the original melodeath bands/records were a goddamn mess of bad songwriting, but they did have catchy guitars. Anyway, one reason you might not enjoy the genre as much is because it's not as focused on heaviness, as it's designed (when done right, anyway... stupid keyboards) to be a merging of Iron Maiden/Judas Priest-style heavy metal with the techniques of death metal. A lot of melodeath ended up turning into mallcore or whatever, though, the artistic equivalent of Dimmu Borgir. It's a genre I like in theory more than in practice, feels like. =P Anyway, I like Dark Tranquillity's latest album pretty well, and pretty much anything that Insomnium put out has been fantastic. There's also Opeth's early material, some of which is quite good, but that band has gone in some weird directions, let me tell you. Great into-level extreme metal, though. I think the first death metal vocals I heard that I actually enjoyed were on The Grand Conjuration.

@Harmony
Look, I'm not saying that I find agonized screaming turned into music delightful, buuuuuut... Although I guess that would be more black metal than death metal. Whatevs!

Can anyone who has seen or read Les Miserables tell me if being likened to Marius is a good or bad thing? Skim-reading the wikia on it, it doesn't seem like a bad thing, but I've not got the focus to read through all of the info.

*falls on the ground laughing*
Basically, it means that you are deeply in love with Fuzzy, and trying to get with him with all the passion of your heart despite the vigilance of his protective Father, Kkat; who Somber for a question of honor and deeply entrenched personal values, is trying to put in jail for crimes that she commited in her past.
At the end of the story, Somber, after getting to know Kkat more, and confronted with the dilemma of finally putting her in prison or letting go this fundamentally good person, will prefer to commit suicide rather than to break his personal code.
