For anyone who likes near-future cyberpunk-inspired stuff, this comic caught my eye. It's just a few pages in, but it seems pretty interesting so far.

I think that guy's more-or-less a parody of the hacker/nerd stereotype.swicked wrote:He says he's taking charge of his destiny to get the girl and become a gundam hero instead of waiting for a magical girl to come by.Mister Frost wrote:I've really got no idea what you mean, Swick
He's just stuffing his every phrase with anime references.
I don't know how else to describe that...

Eye placement is off (Just the left. The other is fine.). To me the shape of the head implies it's supposed to be Crimson's (That's his name right?) profile, so both eyes shouldn't be visible. It makes it look like he has a third eye in the center of his head. Other then that the head looks fine.Kippershy wrote:

How's everyone doing? I haven't been on in ages cause well for one I was moving and no internet. When I got back on I wanted to install windows in virtualbox so I could use photoshop(getting back into drawing) and not have to log out and log back in so I decided to use a program to move my main windows partition to the right. Oh dear god in heaven did my everything break.
I'm having to run deepscan in testdisk to get back the virtualbox partition I put windows in and then I'm going to try and figure out what the hell happens to my main windows partition. It's there and everything, I just am trying to figure out why it's not loading. I think the problem was that since windows isn't the boot partition it had a freak out.
Tl:dr; BUCK YOU WINDOWS!
I haven't even had a chance to read the new chapter yet.

Well at least I didn't lose my files. Everything is there, the partitions are still there. It's just being a huge pain in the ass to recover everything. The good news is though that once I get this fixed +1 day I'll be able to start drawing again. I miss drawing.RoboRed wrote:...Ouch...cb5 wrote:How's everyone doing? . . . You know call me stupid but why doesn't microsoft make a stable operating system that isn't just codewise just their last OS updated and have the OS in a separate partition that way well besides the obvious making all previous malware not work, but as well if something screws up they can just reformat the OS without the person losing all their files or programs?
I like ubuntu so much better if something is "Oh god! Oh god! Oh god!" levels of messed up you can just use a livecd and "upgrade" to your current version of the OS. Windows . . . Not so much.

Something like this is probably going to be the wave of the future. Probably not 100% this or such, but something similar. Pretty much the driving force is probably going to be for delivering goods and such across the nation quickly. The reason why so many things are shipped on train even though it's slow half the time is that it's cheap. 18 wheelers are good and don't need a track, but can't transport more than one trailer at a time. Delivery by plane is more expensive. Delivery by boat is ungodly slow. I so can't wait for this cause that means my stuff coming in the mail will get here in less than two days.Ironmonger wrote:This is cool.
Also oh merciful heavens, the program to fix my missing partition is still going. It's been hours.
Dear Princess Celestia,
Recently I learned that Windows automatically assumes it's the only operating system on a hard drive and god help you if you do anything that contradicts it's assumption in this, cause you're going to need a couple red bulls to stay up long enough to fix it.

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
You're using Inkscape? The points being cut off on the second point in the tail from the left can be fixed by increasing the miter limit, if I remember correctly (can't get the program open at the moment), in the Fill and Stroke dialog (Ctrl+Shift+F if you haven't already found it, and are using Windows), Stroke Style tab. You may also want to place the edges of the color blocks so they're overlapping the lines, to fix the thin white borders, and like Last said, remember that the muzzle will be extending out from directly between the eyes. If you're using something like Illustrator, I don't have quite as much to help, beyond saying that, if you did use it, any sort of flood fill is usually not as helpful as it seems; the pen might take longer, but it gives you so much more control. The gradient shading is really well done, though, and I like the basic look.Kippershy wrote:Gotta add some wings, fix the colour blotch on the tail and add in some decals and I'm done. Opinions?

I had an amazingly difficult time trying to get everything installed this last time. Dualbooting Ubuntu or Mint (switched over when they "improved" Gnome) using a Grub bootloader wasn't too difficult, but I decided to install Arch on my new computer with whatever you call the EFI loading scheme, and Windows refused to understand "Start Linux" meant anything other than "Start Windows". Eventually managed to get it working, but only after installing Windows two or three times and Arch something closer to eight. And that's without being able to use any sort of GUI for the latter. Anyway, I hope you have an install/repair CD for Windows, at the least. Might not do a thing for your documents, but being able to at least get back to that side of your computer if something does go horribly wrong gets rid of a surprising weight.cb5 wrote:Dear Princess Celestia,

By the way, ext2fsd may be an amazing program, but don't make the mistake of thinking it's anywhere near perfect. A /home partition, sure, but as soon as you start installing anything on a ext* filesystem, you run into all sorts of tiny bugs.

As a matter of fact, I have an "Life Insurance", and it's actually a good long-term way to save money from, for example, an inheritance ; because the money in it is insured (I can't contractually and legally lose money from it), and the investment's yield is superior to inflation.swicked wrote:You know those commercials for Gerber to buy life insurance for your children to give them a "head start"?
Does that make ANY sense to ANYone?
Life insurance doesn't help the person it's bought for. Why don't they advertise sales on infant coffins, too?
I find the commercials very surreal.
I saved half of my inheritance on the life insurance as a safe reserve, and the rest has been invested in diverse placements.

ARGH! There was a power outage and it stopped my recovering of my partition. Great, now I'm going to have to spend today trying to recover the frigging thing again.
So it's more for your spouses and children then?Harmony Ltd. wrote:As a matter of fact, I have an "Life Insurance", and it's actually a good long-term way to save money from, for example, an inheritance ; because the money in it is insured (I can't contractually and legally lose money from it), and the investment's yield is superior to inflation.swicked wrote:You know those commercials for Gerber to buy life insurance for your children to give them a "head start"?
