This is the best ELC skin ever. Of all time.
Spoiler:

I'm not going to download it because I don't do skins on this game, but goddamn that's hilariously awesome.

Indeed. I noticed that.

Thought they'd be a little more remixed, though, considering they remixed Comona and Stonehedge. But hey, they don't need to be messed with.

READ just won its' second province in northern Europe. In the first game where we were defending our initial province I even managed to get top damage, xp and number of kills, although I had to expend all of my gold ammo and rely on a lot of support to do it.

Second game wasn't too bad either, did over a thousand damage on the attack although it wasn't quite as intense- I took silly risks and took more hits than I could have.

If we keep this up for the next couple of months I might even be in with a shot of getting the FaiLowe, though I doubt I'll get one.

Bought the T34 because it was on sale.

Had my first game: http://www.mediafire.com/?4x5zka2nxeqacgx

I'd say that's a successful maiden voyage:

So the open beta of this was released on the 360... It's a scifi game on the console as tanks disappear and fire at you from the void.

That sounds like one of the common features with the PC version.
It's one of the most frustrating and useful features of the game. Tanks are only visible when they're spotted, or are spotted by an ally in radio range (and the enemy is within the sometimes painfully small draw distance- at higher tiers with accurate tanks you begin to rue the 500m draw distance).

Spotting depends on the spotting distance of your tank, how far away the enemy is and how much built in 'camo value' his tank has (a small light tank is more sneaky than a heavy tank, which is more sneaky than a Chieftain billowing smoke from its' engine) in addition to intervening stuff like bushes etc.

It's a pain because people you can clearly see in the open can dissapear and you can get killed by hordes of romulans you can't see, but on the plus side it enables the game to be highly modable because the spotting is client side, it's impossible to make a mod telling you where all of the enemies are, spotted or not. Also it means the actual colour of the tank is irrelevant (though purchased camo patterns increase camo value), so you can mod your vehicles to be any colour you want.

Because of the much shorter than reality ranges of WoT, the spotting system is needed, lest every game becomes a 'camp hard' game.

Sometimes, this game just REALLY fucking hates me.

"German accuracy? HA! Fuck you.": http://www.mediafire.com/?6cdv8ldddw0qn00
"This round, all your shots miss, and you're not going anywhere.": http://www.mediafire.com/?fx621gfs4dii1cy

And then there's this: http://www.mediafire.com/?1vc7b6gpg3uywko
I swear, I think I'm the only one on earth who understands/doesn't completely hate this tank:

@Hawkeye Someone explained that to me when I was using artillery and that made pretty good sense to me then. But a tank disappearing twenty feet in front of me while it shot at me is a little ridiculous. I guess it's still in beta so maybe it was just a glitch but you guys play it's completed version is that something that occurs normally?

There's supposed to be an auto- detect mechanic when you get within fifty metres. If he's within that you definitely have a bug. But not a lot further away they can vanish. I've found in this game things also seem a lot closer than they actually are sometimes, but even so I've had people dissapear on me from pretty close before.

You get the hang of it eventually and start naturally hugging cover and utilising terrain so you don't get seen or shot at moving around. If you're new you're going to have invisible tanks killing you a lot. Like, really a lot.
I still get killed fairly often by hidden tanks but I like to think I'm a lot better than I was.

Robo joined us on the Xbox the other night.

Highlights were Guard and I getting stuck on the rock for about five minutes. Robo flipping his tank end over end down a hill resulting in the best explosion I've seen yet. Robo initiating ramming speed only for Guard to break his happy and me and Guard bullying the smaller tanks with our t18s.

Overall I think we were a semi successful platoon with bouts of competence coming from me and Guard when Robo died and directed us.

Okay, so I decided to shift my attention to getting the turret upgrade on the Leo PTA instead of the gun since I was close enough in xp anyways.

Best decision ever. Lower aiming time, higher firing rate and .32 accuracy make a HUGE difference. Never did lower than 1300 damage because I could actually hit the shit I aimed at this time. Also miraculously never lost a match.

I fucking love the PzIV. Five of their players did no damage-- Four of which I killed. The fifth I spotted and knocked out his track. Killed their top player, got the most damage on their second best player. 21/22 shots hit, and dealt a whopping 1419 damage.

Apparently after the Japanese tree and the Object 430 (because we really need another T-62A style tier 10 Soviet medium, don't we?) we will be having another British Medium tree.

Cos Chieftain isn't important right? Least it's something.

It's highly likely this will end with the Vickers MBT Mk1, which is sort of a Centurion but smaller, speedier and lighter armoured.

Personally, I'm more interested to see the line before it. There's a few potentials.

We saw they had both the Light MkVI and the A7 Medium on the boards lately and we also know they have been working on the lend lease line for a while. The Vickers MBT Mk1 was designed for export only, similar to the Indien Panzer, so placing it as an adaption up from the Lend Lease line isn't impossible. But what marks up after Firefly then?

Lots of interesting ideas...personally I'd put it after the light line, going:

Tier 2 - Vickers 6-Ton
Tier 3 - Tetrarch
Tier 4 - Harry Hopkins
Tier 5 - FV301
Tier 6 - AV-R
Tier 7 - TV-15000
Tier 8 - FV101 Scorpion
Tier 9 - Vickers MBT Prototype
Tier 10 - Vickers MBT Mk1

Given how much I love the British Mediums I think this sums up my reaction rather nicely.

you can bet I'll be burning for that as soon as it comes out. If the Vickers MBT is half competetive as well I'll be over the moon. the early versions look like Super Centurions. The later version, though impressive, looks like it can't turn its' turret all the way round.

All of the Vickers MBT's had full turret traverse as far as I'm aware. Which one do you mean?

The mark 3, apecifically the 3i I've seen footage of, because the back deck rises up considerably. Although that was built in '75 so it's beyond the scope of the game.

The sides of the back deck are high, but the Vickers line have very thin turrets, it's a bit like the Churchill VII, in that it's kind of like a "collar" around the turret ring, that it turns within.

The distances between collar and ring are not entirely that large though, it' less than an inch in some places that they pass by! Not exactly sounding particularly "loose" in tolerances from any problems.

Mk3 is from much later yes, although given some of the Chinese tanks have equipment from 1980 then I don't imagine it'd be much of a problem. WG have stated by now that date doesn't matter so much as what it can do. However all the same, while I'd like a Mk1 at tier 9 and a Mk3 at tier 10, the most likely (and logical) answer is for a prototype at tier 9 then Mk1 at tier 10.

Well in this case it looks like the back is so high that the gun might smack into it when it tries to turn around. Maybe it could barely do it to get in a stowed travel position but if so only barely.
