Quiver walks up to Charcoal and Mirabelle outside of the studio, having not left the floor.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but what do you think about moving against Pinnacle?"
He says wearily.
"We can't let him keep doing this..."

[XT Vengeance]

"So do I," the stallion whispered as he led the way back to the elevator.

"Why are you asking me?" Charcoal said to quiver as he walked past him.

[Ketchup]

"I just thought you might have an input. An opinion. Anything."
Quiver says, turning as he walks past him.

[XT Vengeance]

"You don't want to hear my opinion," Charcoal said coldly as he pressed the button for the ground floor.

[Ketchup]

"Whatever you say..."
Quiver says, confusion etched on his features.

[XT Vengeance]

Charcoal walked outside and across the street. He entered the building across the street and sat down. He then held Dinner Bell in his hooves, nuzzling the foal.

"Miri...why didn't anyone else survive? What happened? I don't get it."

[CamoBadger]

"I don't know Char," she replied somberly.

[XT Vengeance]

"What were the others doing that could have possibly been so damn important?" Charcoal asked, knowing that Mirabelle probably didn't know.

[CamoBadger]

"I wouldn't know, I was busy trying to not die," she told him bluntly.

[XT Vengeance]

"Sorry," Charcoal said softly, looking away. "I...I didn't mean it like that."

[CamoBadger]

"It's fine Char, I'm just exhausted," she explained and sighed. "This wasn't how I hoped to spend my night."

[XT Vengeance]

"Me neither. Maybe...maybe we could head to the Crow's Nest. It has food and water. A place to rest," Charcoal suggested.

"By the way, have you seen Scorch?"

[Perception 10 (6+5-1)]Scorch flew high overhead, keeping watch for any signs of trouble.

[CamoBadger]

She shook her head. "I haven't seen him. Doesn't he usually stay with you?"

Scorch sees only distant blurs of Bloodwings flying around among the scarce lights of the city, but they're nowhere near the Tower.

[XT Vengeance]

"Most of the time, yeah. When he isn't he is either out watching for trouble or getting into some himself."

[CamoBadger]

"What kind of trouble does he get in?" she asked.

[XT Vengeance]

"Well...let's just say that he gets way more flank than I ever will."

[CamoBadger]

Mirabelle chuckled and nuzzled the stallion. "Are you sure about that?"

[XT Vengeance]

"Yes. Yes I am."

[CamoBadger]

"Well, we'll have to change that sometime," she whispered and kissed him on the cheek.

[XT Vengeance]

"Miri, he has several hundred years more experience. I don't think it's possible."

[CamoBadger]

"So he cheated? How are we supposed to beat that?" she asked with a giggle.

[XT Vengeance]

"Even if I could, I don't think I would want to Miri."

[CamoBadger]

"Why not? You don't like spending private time with me?"

[XT Vengeance]

"What? I...no, that's not what I meant..."

[CamoBadger]

"Then why not?" she asked calmly.

[XT Vengeance]

"Why would I want to just go around having sex with strangers? That's what Scorch does," Charcoal asked, confused.

[CamoBadger]

Mira deadpanned. "I meant with me Charcoal."

[XT Vengeance]

"Oh...I...um...yeah," Charcoal said awkwardly. He kicked himself internally for being so foolish. "I uh...I'm really bad at this sort of thing, aren't I?"

"Just a little," she joked and cuddled against him. "But we can work on it."
