"So Miri, did you ever get over your terrible aim?" Charcoal asked with a chuckle.

"Uh, no," she replied and scratched her head. "Never got any practice."

"Well, I could always try to help you with that, you know? It would be a handy skill to have."

[CamoBadger]

"I think I'll be alright," Mira replied and turned to the supplies spread out on the table. "I've picked up a trick or two to protect myself."

[XT Vengeance]

"I bet. It looks like you have a pretty good assortment of stuff here."

[CamoBadger]

"Your friends were very generous," Mira pointed out with a smile. "I hope I can help with this stuff."

[XT Vengeance]

"They're a pretty good bunch," Charcoal said with a smile. "I'm sure you will be a great addition to the team Miri."

[CamoBadger]

"Here's to hoping."

[XT Vengeance]

Charcoal gave the mare a quick hug. "I'm just glad you're alive Miri," Charcoal said with a smile. "Just let me know if you want to talk, alright?"

[CamoBadger]

"Will do Char." She returned the hug and grinned. "So, where did you meet the pretty lady?"

[XT Vengeance]

"Well, I had left Manehattan after what happened to our home. I was stopped at Fiddler's Hoof for the night. Scorch kinda saw me looking at her and sort of talked me into saying something," Charcoal said rubbing his mane with his hoof.

[CamoBadger]

"That's cute," she joked. "So you've got a little wingbuck huh?"

[XT Vengeance]

"Well, yeah. He's a damn good friend."

[CamoBadger]

"That's good," the mare replied and started putting some parts together. "It's good to have a friend out there."

[XT Vengeance]

"I'm pretty sure he is the only thing that kept me from ending it or going crazy."

[CamoBadger]

"I'm glad," she plainly responded. "I'll have to thank him for making sure you stayed sane."

[XT Vengeance]

"I just...I don't know how you did it, Miri. You are made of a lot tougher stuff than I am."

[CamoBadger]

"Heh, I don't know about that." Mirabelle tore off the end of the tape and rolled her new ball off to the side gently. "You seem pretty happy considering your profession."

[XT Vengeance]

Charcoal sighed. "Looks can be deceiving," Charcoal said quietly more to himself than her.

"Sniping is good work. I mean, it's challenging work, out of doors, I guarantee I won't go hungry, because at the end of the day, even if there is only two people left in Equestria, someone is gonna want someone dead," he said with a slight grin. "I mean, if spomehow all the raiders disappear I could always be an assassin."

[CamoBadger]

"No arguments here," the mare replied. "Sounds like you've got a nice life, at least compared to a lot of the Wastes."

[XT Vengeance]

[perception 6 (8+1)]Charcoal looks into his friend's eyes to determine why she wasn't being her old cheery self.

[CamoBadger]

Charcoal can see next to nothing in his friend's eyes, they look almost lifeless.
Mira stared back for a second, then looked away awkwardly and rubbed her neck. "Um, you okay?"

Charcoal sat down next to his friend. "Miri...what's wrong?"

[CamoBadger]

"Nothing. What could be? My best friend saved me and let me hang out with his friends for a while, and he's going to help me kill Raiders." She pointed out with a little grin. "Everything is great."

[XT Vengeance]

[Perception 6 (5+1) Charisma 6 (7+1)]"Miri, I know you. Please, I want to help you. Just, please, tell me what's wrong."

[CamoBadger]

Mirabelle just stared at Charcoal for a while before answering. "What's wrong?" she started quietly, but her body started to shake. "What's wrong?!" She almost shouted, but managed to barely keep her voice down. "What's wrong, is that I've spent 8 years as a Raider bitch, doing whatever they want and just wishing for them to kill me! But it never happened. No, instead they got tired of me, so they sold me to another bunch of assholes to start the whole thing over again." The mare almost screamed as her face turned red. "And unlike you, I had to do it all alone. I didn't have a bird, or a fiance, or anyone. All I had were Raiders and Slavers who treated me like a fucking toy!"

[XT Vengeance]

I'm an asshole.

"Miri...I...I'm sorry. I should have known better. You shouldn't have had to go through that, noone should." Charcoal hung his head, unable to look at his friend.

"I should have saved you. I'm sorry," he said quietly.

[CamoBadger]

"No, nobody should, and nobody will again," she responded tearfully but angrily. "Because now I have a chance to make sure they never get to do it again." She breathed heavily for a few seconds, but calmed down and frowned as she noticed Charcoal's sudden change in mood.
"Char...look, I," she stopped and sat back down as her body gradually stopped shaking. "I don't blame you, you never could have known I was still alive."

[Tytan]

"Miri, I should have scoured the area anyways. I should have spent my time looking for you, anyone that could have survived," Charcoal said quietly. "Even if it killed me, I should have looked. My...my quest for revenge meant you had to suffer." Charcoal let out a heavy sigh then looked up to her, his left pupil glowing red.

"We. We are going to make sure it doesn't happen again," he said, his hatred of raiders renewed.

A smile curled over Mira's lips and she nodded to him. "Thank you Charcoal."
