"Miri, don't thank me. I haven't earned that, not yet," Charcoal said, his eye still glowing like the embers of a red hot flame.

[CamoBadger]

The mare looked over at the glowing red eye. "Does it hurt?" she asked him quietly.

[Tytan]

"Yes," he answered the mare. "So does my hoof at times, but never as bad as the eye."

[CamoBadger]

"How do you live with it?" she asked curiously.

[Tytan]

"I let it remind me of how many times I have failed, and how I have to do more. How I have to do better," Charcoal said quietly to Mirabelle.

[CamoBadger]

"And after we kill all of the raiders that ruined our lives? Will you still live with the pain?"

[Tytan]

Charcoal was quiet for a moment. "Will you?"

[CamoBadger]

"I'll see how I feel when they take their last breath," she replied simply. "But first we need to kill those slavers, so I should finish up," she explained and turned back to the table. "Whenever you're all ready to go, let me know."

[Tytan]

Clock approaches Mirabelle, "I heard you were looking for pointy stuff. I couldn't really find anything like that, but Viktor had some cram. You must be starving." Clock hands her the can of meat.

[CamoBadger]

"Oh, no thanks, I'll be fine," the mare replied with a grin. "I want to get this done as soon as I can anyways, just to be safe."

[Tytan]

"What're you working on?"

[CamoBadger]

"Some surprises for the slavers," she answered with a smile. "Hopefully they'll be helpful."

[Tytan]

"What kind of surprises," she asks playfully.

[CamoBadger]

"The deadly kind," she answered and started working with the Roach bombs.

[Tytan]

"Not to deadly I hope. We should still try and get the other slaves out."

[CamoBadger]

"Oh... yeah, of course we will," the mare responded with a strange smile before looking back at her work.

[Tytan]

Clock paused, "... You do want to save them, right?"

[CamoBadger]

"Of course, I know what they're going through, and they should be taken away from it," she explained. "But we shouldn't risk a slaver escaping." She froze for a moment, then continued. "Besides, there's more than one kind of salvation in the Wasteland."

[Tytan]

"I suppose there is spiritual salvation; finding meaning in the goddess. But I think those slaves would prefer the regular 'freedom' kind of salvation. Anyways, our priority should be getting everyone out okay. Killing slavers is great, but killing innocents... not so much."

[CamoBadger]

"I guess," the mare responded and finished working with the roach bombs. "Hopefully we won't have to make that choice."

[Tytan]

"Hopefully not... Maybe Viktor can get them out faster. Dig a hole right in the pens or something."

[CamoBadger]

"Maybe. It would provide a good distraction as well," the mare agreed with a sly grin. "Yes, we should do that."

[Tytan]

Clock smiles, "Great. Viktor will get the slaves out, and you can use your surprise after."

[CamoBadger]

"That sounds like a plan to me. Do you and Char want to tell the others while I finish up here?" she asked.

[Tytan]

"No problem."

[XT Vengeance]

"Miri, do you have any idea where the sewer entrance might be?" Charcoal asked, finally speaking up after a while.

[CamoBadger]

"I might," she replied. "There are only 4 sewer entrances near the stadium that would feed under the building, so that should narrow it down."

[XT Vengeance]

"That's a good start then. How long until you are going to be ready Miri?"

[CamoBadger]

"Maybe 10 minutes? I'm almost done," she explained. "You should make sure the others are ready. I'll be here whenever you are ready to leave."

whisper to Mirabelle:

Charcoal turned and left the room, trotting outside to gather the others. "Alright folks, we should move out soon. Mirabelle told me that there are some sewers that lead under the stadium. There are probably ferals, but once we get past them we will should be able to get in unnoticed."
