"I'm guessing there is a problem out here with raiders. You seem to make a living killing them. From what I saw a few days ago, they seem to be nothing but trouble. Who is DJ PON3, anyway? What about him makes Tenpony worth visiting?"

[XT Vengeance]

"Well, to be fair, you can't really visit him. But Tenpony is where he broadcasts from. And there is always a problem with raiders. Scorch and I are just a couple of problem solvers."

[Ketchup]

"He must broadcast important stuff if he's notable for it."
Quiver pauses and looks around, noticing not a single other pegasus.
"Where are all the pegasi? It's been overcast since I left the Stable."

[XT Vengeance]

Charcoal points his hoof at the sky. "Up there. The Enclave abandoned all of us on the surface and covered the skies. That's why it is cloudy all of the time," he says with a little frustration.

[Orm]

Searchlight watched Tumbleweed leave with Cactus. He stared at nothing for a couple of minutes before getting up and continued to walk.
"You two were safe, I know you were." He whispered to himself.

[Ketchup]

"I presume that makes it hard for any kind of agriculture. It would also help explain why there is so little vegetation. Not that I expected there to be much. They should be helping the surface, not hindering it. They must know that they are doing so..."
Quiver says with a tone of resentment growing towards the end.

[XT Vengeance]

"Oh I am pretty sure they know. Either way, there isn't much we can do about it. All we can do is rebuild without them."

[Ketchup]

"It does seem like the ponies around here are doing just fine with that. But with all the ponies working together, combining the strengths of Pegasi, Unicorns, and Earth ponies like yourself, we could do much better down here."

[XT Vengeance]

"Probably, but good luck with that. Most ponies I've met don't really care about cooperation. Then again, I haven't really met all that many ponies. I usually spend most of my time with Scorch as my only company."

[Ketchup]

"Well, I doubt I'd be able to make a difference in that respect. Others have probably tried, and evidently failed."
Quiver sighs.
"Well it has been nice talking to you Charcoal."
Quiver once again diverts his attention to the map, and resumes drawing.

[XT Vengeance]

"Nice talking to you too Quiver." Charcoal then trots off, resuming his stroll around the town.

[Ironmonger]

As he's trotting through town, Cast Iron spots Charcoal. Since he has really nothing better to do, he decides to walk over for a chat. "Hello friend, how are zings in zis...Vasteland...treating you? Anyzing interesting happen in zis boring old town?"

[XT Vengeance]

"I'd say things are doing pretty well, but no, I've only had one interesting thing happen today," he says to the hulking unicorn.

[Tytan]

Clock wipes her eyes, which are now red and puffy. She sniffs, and stares at the remains of the fire.

[XT Vengeance]

Scorch is circling in the sky above New Appleoosa. He notices Clockwork still sitting by the cooking fire from earlier and swoops down to see if something was wrong. Scorch lands on the ground in front of the mare.

"Squawk?" he asks, cocking his head to the side.

[Tytan]

Clock looks at the new arrival, "O-oh... Hey Scorch."

[XT Vengeance]

[Perception 10(1+5)]Scorch tilts his head, noticing the mare's puffy eyes. [Charisma 3(10-2)] "Squawk? Squawkity kaw squawk," he says in a somehow reassuring tone.

[Tytan]

Clock doesn't understand what Scorch said, "I-I'm sorry. I don't understand. We could... find Charcoal."

[Ironmonger]

"Given your lack of an explanation, I can only assume it vas somezing personal, interesting in zeh negative sense, or perhaps both. No matter. Did you get a good return on zose landmines?"

[XT Vengeance]

"Yeah, it was personal. Anyways, I got sixty caps for the two of them, and I bought some food and a book. That store was run very well, and had great prices. I'll definitely be going back there again."

"Squawk," Scorch replies, nodding his head in agreement. He waves his wing at her and then takes off into the air, flying towards the town as though to lead the mare to him.

[Tytan]

Clock stands up and follows the phoenix, dragging her hooves slightly.

[Ironmonger]

"I just vish zat zere vas a dedicated armory, it vould be more familiar to me zan any of zis backvater territory. Zeh ozzer shopkeeper vas selling zat 'Ratslayer' for two-zousand caps, in my country people have been executed for zat kind of extortion."

[XT Vengeance]

"Well, we didn't exactly fare as well as Germaney after the war. But yes, he was overcharging by a long shot."

Scorch leads the mare into the center of town where Charcoal and Cast Iron are talking. He lands on Charcoal's back with a squawk.

"What?" he asks his feathered friend. "Why?"

"Squawkity squawk," he replies, pointing a wing at the approaching mare.

[Ironmonger]

Cast Iron cocks his head at an angle. "Somezing wrong, should I go?"

[Tytan]

Clock looks embarrassed and is avoiding eye contact, "H-hey Charcoal. Scorch was trying to say something to me, but I don't understand him like you do."

[XT Vengeance]

"Sorry Cast, I'll come looking for you later okay?" he says to the large unicorn.

[Ironmonger]

Cast Iron nods. "Until next time." his cybernetics whir and hiss as he turns and walks away.

[XT Vengeance]

"Clock, Scorch told me that you were crying...did...did I do something wrong?" he asks the mare quietly, his ears drooping.

[Tytan]

"No! I-it wasn't you... not directly." Clock remembers that she left the key outside her coat. She stuffs it back in.

Her tone suggests that she's chastising herself, "It's stupid. You... reminded me of someone...someone... gone."

[XT Vengeance]

"I'm sorry. I really didn't mean...I didn't...I don't want you to be sad Clock." Charcoal gets closer to her.
