High tier premium ammo to get a large penetration nerf. Thank god for that.

WG changes price of many types of ammo...but keeps the 20 Pounder price the same. We know they're doing it on purpose now.

Many tanks change repair prices. M2 and T2 Medium tanks get 200% more expensive to repair for one. (Ouch!)

Many tanks now earn extra credits. See list here. Stand outs include Soviet Premium Churchill III getting 30% more credits, Centurion I getting 25% more (offsets the ammo?) credits, Matilda Black Prince getting 44% more, Churchill GC/AT-15A getting 35% more and the 105 AM Mle 50 getting an astounding 47% more.

Lastly, gold consumables (not Premium ammo) to have their price cut in half in 8.6. This will only last until 8.7 however, so stock up!

Looking back on this replay, I should thank my lucky stars, considering some of the moments where I made mistakes that easily could have ended me.

There's something deperately wrong with that Centurion. It's not a Centurion I- it doesn't have the flaw ridden hull or the strange looking turret.

That really short gun makes me think that this tank is a MK IV, armed for close support with a 95mm howitzer. I haven't managed to find any pictures of one though so it might have remained as a concept tank.

Quite why of all those vehicles you'd give the Centurion the howitzer is beyond me. If they could deploy a MK 5/1 (FV 4011) instead, they would have an exceptionally good tank.

That picture is interesting, I remember the British team in Girls Und Panzer had a Churchill and 4 Matilda II's. Is there a second season being made or something? (Please say yes, that show has so much potential to go into with more teams, more tanks etc)

And yes, hawkeye is right about the incorrect Mk number on the Centurion there. The Churchill VII seems to be odd as well, a howitxer equipped Churchill with that armour was known as a Mk VIII instead of a Mk VII.

There are now IS-3's sniping my cupola from 200m+ away now, multiple shots in a row.

This accuracy change is a COLOSSAL buff for the Russian tanks and it's really showing. They aren't so much a threat on the battlefield now as absolute dominating every single game with massive alpha damage sniper rifles that can pinpoint weak areas half the map away.

I just don't even. WG managed to break Russian tanks more than they already were.

Anyways, twas a rather miserable set of games today. Many teammates could not find water even if they were drowning in it. HOWEVER...

I did achieve 2nd class mastery with my AT8 and, in a hell of a close game and a good sendoff, got Ace Tanker in my VK3002 and enough credits to get my Indien Panzer.

Things turned out alright after all.

Well, I put together a load of footage of my Panzer III doing what it does best. Unfortunately Windows live movie maker is buggy as hell and if you save a project as a movie then add to it (the only way around the 'all clips are muted' bug), it throws up all kinds of artefacts in the footage. Any other video editors you can reccommend would be great.

Arty I'm not sure what to think on yet. The massive nerf to accuracy and aimtime was desperately needed, but there is still the issue of arty being top tier in games leading to Crusaders facing off against GW Panthers. It's one shot city with immense splash damage. In effect the patch hasn't made arty less powerful at all, it's simply made them hit less but when they do they inevitably one shot everything in the game so they are still more frustrating than fun.

I still think the solution for them is to increase their fire rate and lower damage. Make them about landing a lot of shots in an AREA, not about individually targeting tanks like some finger of god. They should be doing minimum damage to many targets to force them to move rather than one shotting any tank that dares stand still for more than a couple seconds, suppression and area denial is artillery's thing after all, precision targeting is only barely a thing today let alone WW1/2/Cold War era.

There is already a massive influx of hatred to the massive buff Russian tanks got in this one from the British player side of the EU forums, though.

Unfortunately, WG doesn't care what the British tank players ever say or do.

On the upside, the FV4202 visit at Bovington tank museum found out some interesting things to send to WG. The cupola is only about half the size WG makes it, the turret ring is actually 240mm thick, the turret itself is actually 195mm thick (not 125mm like WG says) and even has 100mm of spaced armour underneath that not present on the WoT model. So the British players have actually went out there and proven that the FV4202 is massively more powerful than WG says it is, who admitted they never looked at any numbers and based its stats entirely on nothing after looking at a photo before rushing the tank in one week by a sub contractor.

Unfortunately, yes.

It certainly doesn't feel like it should be there, other tier 5 tanks can sorta compete but British tier 5's are more like "Tier 4.5" than a fully fledged five.

Of course, if they actually fixed the Churchill it'd be handy, the bare minimum needed is:

 - Give it access to its frontal howitzer. This is not a difficult thing to implement and WG has put multi-gun support off for far too long.
 - Increased hill climbing ability. The Churchill was legendary for this. They could climb hills light tanks couldn't with this slow and steady constant output of about 15km/h uphill up to insane gradients. Why the tank in game doesn't have this astounds me as it's the biggest defining trait it had.
 - Increased crew HP/protection. The Churchill had the highest safety record for keeping its crew alive of any tank in the entire war. Knocked out crew members should be a very rare occurence.

And for the Churchill VII:

 - Fix the track weakspots, it's a glitch that's gone on way too long and makes its armour useless.
 - Give it the AVRE turret with the 290mm Petard mortar as a kind of KV-2 style play.

I kind of wonder whether the petard mortar would be too powerful. There was an instance in Normandy where an AVRE ran into a Tiger and fired in desparation. There was just a crater left in the road with barely enough wreckage to identify the tank.
So it would have a stupidly long reload but it would alpha any tank up to tier 8.

Do you have a source for that? I remember reading that smaller diameter Soviet 152-millimeter assault guns could do the same thing, though.
