Who is Mike Sparks?

He claims to run the "1st Tactical Studies Group" which as far as I can tell is a collection of bombastic rants written by him. Apparently he knows everything about maneuver warfare, and if he were in charge the war on terror would have been won September 12, 2001.

Among other things, he thinks that:

All E-8 and E-9 ranks in all branches of the military are unneeded.

He has a bizarre fetish for the M-113, and believes it is the solution to all the military's problems. In contrast, the Stryker and wheeled combat vehicles in general are worthless.

The entire US Marine Corps is composed of "narcissists"(a word he really likes to toss around) and should be disbanded.

Soldiers need to be issued some kind of transparent bullet resistant shield to attach to the front of their rifle.

Anyone who disagrees with him is a "narcissist," idiot or working for the Bush administration(which he despises as "Satanic.")

Point being Mike Sparks is a well know armchair general famous for being verbose and being first of the arm chair generals and he has an entire universe of people who believe he would have won the war on terror in two years if HE was in charge.

The guys harmless but a bit of a nutter, I think this website steals a few of his pieces as they are in the same vein.

I'm confused... That sounds more like you just have a short attention span.
For me it's more like someone else just decided I wasn't going to think/do something anymore.
The train doesn't explode, it gets lost and ends up at a station a thousand miles away from where it intended to be, unintentionally.
I'm not just deciding not to do something anymore because I'm tired of it...

And as I said in a previous post, that used to happen pretty consistantly every few minutes when I was a lot younger. I literally couldn't stay on task to save my life.

My train of thought ends up where it shouldn't as well, the train only explodes when I try to force myself to stay on task when the ADD is pulling me to something else. I usually just go with it. It's not that I get tired of the subject, something else starts pulling at my brain and the more I try to ignore it the more aggravated I get and then I start forgetting important things.

My parents had me on Ritalin for a while but all that did was make me go Blood Knight on the drop of a hat. Adderall would just make me depressed and people said I acted weird.

Based on the description of Sparks, I had to check to see if he was the same guy who inspired the concept of "Shorter X" (and thus, indirectly, "I am aware of all internet traditions."), but it turns out that was Stephen den Beste. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised that there should be more than one person fitting that description.

Time is wonky. As to the show, and the frequency of Apple Family Reunions, well... I honestly don't know. It doesn't seem like eight years or so have passed, but that would explain how the frequency of disasters in Ponyville and Equestria at large haven't put the place in a constant state of panic. Anyway, the episode was great

Funny thing, a girl I used to go to school with back in 08 got after me for "trying to sound smart". The reality was that I had a better vocabulary than her. x)

Anyway as far as that gun name goes, I'm leaning towards something like "The Iron Brown Bear" or "The Iron Growler".
Maybe just "The Growler", derived from the German "Brummstimme".

@EP: I threw pony card packs at my friends this jul, they got 4/7 packs with a rare foil card. One of the elements of harmony, (I got 1/6) and they got all the princesses. I has a bit of a frown now xD I'll have to blargh some this week. I hope I can at least finish this animation before new years, or else it will fizzle and be useless... I might try drinking once more. Don't have enough at home to get anything beyond possibly slightly tipsy, but eh.
