"Yeah, no kiddin'."She giggles"Oh well, he's a good sport. And he figured it out rather quickly, which was... kinda surprisin'."

"Seriously. His brother must've loved making him squirm if he went and got some fillies to do the same thing to him."

"Maybe, but from what ah've his brother wasn't too bad. Just messed with'im since he couldn't do magic. Ah think that's actually why he did, try ta get'im his cutie mark or somethin'.."

"Maybe... How'd you get yours?"

"Do ya really wanna know? It ain't really that interestin'..."

Cherry sighs"All right, why not ah guess."She takes a seat and starts to think"Well, when ah was a little filly, ah had a friend named Marigold. Now, Mari, never really had a lot of friends. She had somethin' wrong with her wings and got made fun of fer it. So, one day when ah went ta visit her she'd been havin' a particularly bad day. Ah did what ah could ta cheer up her. Play hide an seek, told stories, and everythin' we could think of. Ah guess sometime durin' that was when ah got it, 'cause ah didn't even notice till ah woke up the next mornin'."

[Tytan]

"Sweety that was interesting. That's a wonderful way to earn a cutie mark."

[Guest]

"Eh, ain't that interestin'. Don't really know what happened ta her, kinda split once we inta the academy."

[Tytan]

"That's too bad... Well, fair's fair. I earned my cutie mark while I was helping my dad. A patient came to us when he was having trouble with a cybernetic leg. It was twitching like crazy and was making it difficult for him to walk. My dad didn't know the first thing about cybernetics, and I hardly knew anything at all. But I didn't want to let my dad down so I volunteered to take a look anyways. I disassembled the entire leg, cleaned some grimy connectors and put it back together. Afterwards he had no trouble walking and I had a faceless watch on my butt."

"Well, that's certainly more interestin' then my story."She smiles

"Not really. And cybernetics are pretty rare in the wasteland."

[Guest]

"Still, it was just somethin' that helped folks."

[Tytan]

"So was yers. How do you think Marigold felt before you came to play with'er?"

[Guest]

"Never asked. Probably sad, if ah had ta take a guess."

[Tytan]

"And how do you think she felt after she got a friend?"

[Guest]

"Ah reckon she was probably happy."

[Tytan]

"Helpin' ponies ain't always diggin' a bullet out of their gut. Sometimes it's just being a friend."

"Ah guess, just never really thought 'bout it."

[Tytan]

"Has Shadow ever told you what he thought would happen to him if he never met you?"

[Guest]

Cherry shakes her head"No, we don't really talk 'bout what if's. We just kinda take what comes and roll with it. Why?"

[Tytan]

"If you want to know, you're going to have to ask him 'What if' just this once. And ask him what a 'Nightmare' is."

"Ah know what one those are, Shadow's brought'em up before.*She pieces together what Shadow said*Oh, wow, ah...Ah didn't know ah meant that much..."

[Tytan]

"He loves you... a lot. You keep him from losing himself."

Cherry gets a little teary eyed"Ah love'im more then anythin' just like he does with me, but ah never knew ah was that important ta him."She smiles

"Love, yah generate good moods like a balefire bombs give off radiation. He must've been in a pretty dark place until he met you."
