He cuts a piece of roast and takes a bite out of it.
"This is great. Thanks Dark."
He notices Azure take out the wasabi.
"Almost forgot about the weird stuff you eat when you're pregnant."

"Sorry, uh, last time I ate that stuff it was rather painful, and caused me to switch.

No problem Trail."

Azure looks at Trail"You've dealt with pregnancies before, I wouldn't of guessed."

[Orm]

"Had a wife. So yeah I've dealt with it."

[Tytan]

"You're married? And you have children?"

[Guest]

"Ya were married? That's interestin', I wouldn't of guessed Trail."

[Orm]

"Had a wife.
And a filly."

[Tytan]

Dark realizes her mistake, "Oh, I'm-I'm so sorry."

[Guest]

Azure looks down"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that Trail...."

[Orm]

"Don't be, she left me.
Can't say she didn't have her reasons."

[Guest]

"Oh, um, sorry. How long were ya together? If it's not too much to ask."

[Orm]

"We were together for 8 years."
He turned his head to look at Azure with a sad smile on his face.
"Our filly was 6 when..."
He paused and looked away.

[Guest]

"Oh... I'm..I'm really sorry, Trail. Um, wh-what happened?"

[Orm]

He looked at the table not raising his head as he spoke.
"Me and a few others from a settlement were going to search a building for supplies.
We just found this one. It was a big place we figured we'd need as many ponies as we could to gather supplies.

My little girl came up to me and asked if she could help.
I told her she couldn't, that it was dangerous. But she gave me the puppy dog eyes and I caved.
I told her she could come if she stayed close and if she didn't tell her mother."

Trail smiled as he mentioned his daughter.

"The place was bigger than we thought it was.
Halls had collapsed, lights were out, and the floor was falling in some places, we had to split up to cover more ground."

His smile faded away.

"Just when we got the last canned food on our floor and were heading down, the floor collapsed from under us.
We fell down 2 floors, and I got pinned under some desks.
But then I heard hoof steps.
I thought we were going to be okay, that we would get out of there, she'd be grounded, and I'd sleep on the couch for a month or two."

Tears began to appear at the corners of his eyes.

"But the hooves I heard were from a swarm of ferals that, I guess, considered that place home.
My little girl panicked, she started screaming. The fall must have hurt her worse than I thought because she couldn't get up and run.
The damn things swarmed her.
By the time the others showed up she was... she..."

[Orm]

((Wow, longest post I've ever written.
Sorry for taking so long.))

Azure looks down"Oh, my, Trail. I... I don't know what to say, that's...That's horrible. I'm so sorry ya had to go through that."

[Tytan]

Dark was choked up. Tears flowing freely.

Major looked at Trail. She said nothing, but bowed her head.

[Orm]

"When we got back to the settlement I went straight home.
She was... well angry doesn't really cut it.
She said it was my fault that that happened to her, that I should have never let her come with me, and that I should have done something.
I didn't argue with her, I knew she was right.
She told me to leave, and I did."

He looked at Azure.

"Like I said before, can't say she didn't have her reasons for telling me to go."

[Orm]

((And this explains why he really hates ghouls.
He thinks that they could go feral at any second, and that the same thing could happen to someone else.))

[Tytan]

Dark stands up and gives Trail a hug.

[Guest]

((I can see that, at least now it all makes sense.))
"Y-yeah, I cannot express how sorry I am, Trail."She looks up and and offers a comforting smile

[Orm]

He's surprised at the hug from Dark, and slowly returns the hug with one arm.
He looks at Azure.
"Thanks."

[Tytan]

"I'm sorry."

[Guest]

"Don't mention it, Trail."She takes a bite of her roast"It's terrible that that happened to ya."

[Orm]

He lets go of Dark, "It's okay."
He looks back at Azure.
"I already put myself down for who knows how long after that, for 2 years I thought of what I could have done to save her.
I didn't even try. I just kept telling them not to hurt her, to leave her alone, to take me instead.
I still don't forgive myself, or those things for what happened to her."

[Guest]

"That's understandable, after an event like that, It's common for someone to feel like that, it's called survivors guilt. I can't say I know ya well enough, but it seems you're at least tryin' to move on. Which is more then most people can do.."

[Tytan]

*Quietly so only Trail can hear.* "The other night you asked whether or not I'd killed... I'll explain, later."

[Orm]

"I guess. Doesn't mean I still don't hate myself when I remember it though"
He looked at Dark,
"Okay." He said quietly back to her.


((And I need to go to sleep now.
