He's getting reconstructive surgery.

I can't do parkour or play any sports (nor do I really want to) until my left big toe heals. It's almost literally an Achilles' heel for me. Hit me there, and I often recoil rather severely. Just ask Ketchup. Y'see, I had an ingrown toenail about two years ago, and I had minor surgery to correct it. Parts of the removed tissue never healed; I have a slice (leftover from a wedge resection, as the procedure is called) in my nail plate with my toenail growing into it, but the toenail is no longer ingrown, itself. Now, get this: if an ingrown toenail persists after a treatment... another possible treatment is to destroy the germinal matrix, located in the brain. An American medical journal says so.

On an interesting note on the procedure, I was given Tylenol-3s (you know, the codeine variety). They really are potent. I only ever took one.

I've had the same flesh wound in my toe for two years, making the total number of years my big toe has been injured four.

Some of the stuff that came out of my toe smelled more like death than anything else I've ever smelled. The worst of these things came off, revealing the wound. It had replaced the scab somehow. I killed it and whatever remained of it on my toe with near-boiling water after peeling it off, then washed my hands for a good four or five minutes.

It's a good thing I haven't gotten necrosis.

So I'm done with the part where I retool every creature in the game for the new caste and tissue material system. And I've fixed the errors.
Took only a couple of months. Celestia, I'm so easily distracted by shiny things.

Now that the world of DF is a more awful place to live in, thanks to the berserk skinless giant kiwis (and kiwi-pegasi), it's time to make da magics it even more awful with new megabeasts and custom night creatures!!

And considering that DF's night creatures are the kind that sometimes abducts ponies, assimilates them and takes them as mates, well...

OH YES!:

Mommy is coming to My Little Fortress... darlings. Scream, SCREAM FOR YOUR LIFE!

Too bad that the night trolls don't actually abduct from the fortress population. Yet. But it'll be possible to make a night creature / megabeast hybrid that abducts mates and reproduces in worldgen and so has greater numbers than it would usually have. I think. It's been done in Masterwork.

On the matter of ingrown toes - I've heard that you can have the nail taken off and toe scrapped of all the cells that regrow the nail - if it becomes necessary.

@Iron: Just to be like that; I actually rarely show others my right foot, it is quite messed up. Not "that badly", but it's like dry and the nails are semi-yellowish. Tried to fix it, but it doesn't want too.

Also, we actually have a "LTAC" light terrain-going attack bicycle" and a KLAS "Short, light attack shovel" in Swe xP

My dad busted his knee but good recently; he was trying to dig up the ground and replant grass seeds over our new natural gas connection. >_< Technically, he succeeded, but his muscles got so warn out that eventually it was just the connective gunk supporting his leg every time he stepped down on the shovel, and he hit a rock, and, well... wish he'd waited until I came home for a week and had me do it, jeez. Anyway, I had my knee hyperextended a little bit when I was like in fourth grade or something, and it hurt for about a year, but I didn't tell anyone about it and it went away so it's aaaaaallllll goooooood. Other than that, no significant leg injuries to report! But yeah, even if you don't screw up, significant physical activity like sports and parkour will mess up your kneebits like crazy. And true, reconstructive surgery and stuff is only gonna get more advanced and easier with time, and true that if healthcare reform continues it may even be possible to get access to that stuff without too much trouble, but unless you're making the big bucks I'd say take care of your leg benders.

Sounds awfully sweet for just a liqueur. I find amaretto goes best with something hot. Mix it with a hot cider which is rather appropriate this time of year, or even over ice cream for an extra deliciousness.

Or half and half with whiskey (don't use a scotch unless it's really cheap) for a bastardized Godfather.

Just having it as it is or mixed with coke is precisely why I adore it so much, because it is so sweet and easy to drink.

When you say cider though, do you mean apple juice or actual cider, which is alcoholic.
(Because no, cider is never non-alcoholic, despite what some might say.)
All the same, never heard of doing that.
Having it over ice cream however, I have heard of. Reckon you'd want to thicken it up first somehow, make it into a sauce rather than straight up drink.

The Godfather idea sounds nice though. Never considered that.

They're sweet, chewie and really nice. So yes, they serve the same purpose as skittles would.

Use it as a glaze over ice cream. Doesn't need to be thickened. Do the same with chambord and you've really got a delightful treat.

Also alcoholic (real) cider. I'm Irish so I always mean the legit. :)

I've always felt a man who enjoys a sweet beverage but doesn't exhume effeminacy isn't to be trusted. Quite quixotic and interesting indeed...

Same here. 'cept for cooking. While I don't like drinking coffee, and am in the same boat as you. Alcohol does smell nice in certain foods.

Oh yeah, and before I forget, got that info on Somber while lurking. Though it'd be nice to know Somber in real life.
Speaking of school, funny story. So in my old high school there's a cool English teacher named Toth. He's now doing a section on medieval literature. Except that he turned it into a big rpg-esque game. Class is split into teams. No assignments except some quizzes and a test are mandatory. Doing assignments nets you little plastic soldiers/archers/knights. Doing something exceptional, or something awesome, or specific conditions nets you special figures. At the end of the thing near December, there's a huge tournament/tabletop board game where you fight the rest of your class with the figures.

Anyways, one of my sisters managed to get into that class and is now playing the game. Each team is supposed to create a kingdom, with title, motto, mascot/crest, and colors. My sister's team decided that, since everyone else was doing dragons (because apparently my team did it and wrecked our year's table figuratively) they chose and elephant because 'it was different'.
So my conversation with her went something like this:
Me: 'So they want to be an elephant... why?'
Sis: "Because they want to be different"
Me: O.o
Sis: "My idea got outvoted"
Me: 'So essentially, your team wanted to be... Omigosh *laughs* You're on a team of hipsters!'
Sis: O.o
Me: 'I know! Since you're the artist, make it a <i>HIPSTER ELEPHANT</i>!'

And another sister said she'd help with artwork if and only if the team agreed that their mascot is a hipster elephant. We're waiting for their answer.
