I confused the Fencer with a Flogger initially because they look pretty similar from the front. The Fencer has a side by side cockpit as in the drawing though.
Would you look at that, you are right. I figured they would use western planes since it is an American show, but that just proves the diversity of the community. In my defense:
F:The SU-27 looks very similar to the F-15, aside from very minor fuselage shaping differences when viewed from that angle.
T:The PAK-FA doesn't have thrust vectoring engines, but looks almost exactly the same as the F-22.
A:Almost all the variable geometry fighters with that type of fuselage look the same.
P:It's quite hard to distinguish between an F-18 and a MiG-29 by sight. They look very similar, but the vertical fins are on a slightly different angle and the cockpit on the MiG-29 is raised higher.
R:As with the Flogger, many designs in that configuration look the same.

Agreed on all points but one- the PAK FA's intended engines are mostly classified but will have three-dimensional thrust vectoring, just like the current generation Su-27 family. The F-22 Raptor only has two-dimensional thrust vectoring. The PAK has a much wider-looking body in real life than the F-22 as well though and that hasn't translated to this drawing particularly well.

I'm a rather crazy Ace Combat fan and have been for about eleven years now, so that's honestly the only reason why I recognized most of these instantly.

I thought the body was a little wide, too, but I thought it was just the angle. The engines aren't too evident in the picture and I just looked it up to compare between it and it's obvious inspiration. I didn't read anything about it, really.
I think the US and Russia just took turns copying each other.
I played 6 a lot and Assault Horizon through once. The latter I played online last night, actually.

The Arrow has better fuel economy, comparable payload and is far older and thus, far cheaper. When the project was cancelled in 1959, most of the engineers in the project quit working for Canada and went to the US to work for NASA.

Under Augustine's Law XVI, and dates of initial operation (cancellation) of 2006 and 1959, probably about 4^4.7 = 676 times lower in unit purchase price. [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion - Page 23 2775469706

I agree to an extent. Although there has always been a lot of copying going on, US and Soviet/Russian aircraft design went completely different directions in the late '60s and their individual philosophies still show strongly today. The US went for superior electronics, altitude, and BVR capability, while the Russians went for speed and maneuverability in two separate fighter families. If you look closely at the T-50 and compare it to the Su-27 and -47, you'll actually see a lot more structural similarity between them than between the T-50 and the F-22.

Honestly AH is fun, but isn't really an Ace Combat game in the tradition of the series. Six, while I played it a lot because it was online as well, was honestly a bad Ace Combat game, though taken alone it was still fun. Neither of those games come close to 4, 5, or Zero for me though.

American jets are a lot more expensive, too. Upon closer inspection, the T-50's engines are farther apart and it is significantly wider indeed. The bottom is shaped much more along the lines of other Russian fighters.

I adore shrooms, so damn much. The philosophical/spiritual experience is amazing but the real fun is when that ends and moves onto the pure bliss of straight up tripping.

So lets review, we all talked about chapter 50, 4chan trolls with the idea that Blackjack and P-21 are going to get back together again once Glory gets grounded by her mom... Then we talked about fire arms and how hardcore everyone is and oh yes airplanes.

Then everyone posted ponies trying to give each other diabetes. And I decided I was going to buy Welovefineprint's giant Equestria map because I am a sucker for maps of fantastic places real or imaginary with a minor fetish in historical maps (The more here be dragons the better)

You're not the only one. I had no investment with the filly except being a name I'd heard before, and I was too worried about BJ and Glory to really react beyond, "Welp, guess you shoulda listened to Scotch."

Don't think they have one. This chapter made it pretty clear that the "Peppermint" Twist was worried about when she surfaced from Rampage is an animal of some sort, though apparently not a kind that's normally considered pet material.
Peppermint... blank? Maybe? Is there anything they could keep that isn't a pony but could look like... hm...

As for Medley, it was hard to finish catching up before speaking up on that. It's understandable that not everyone would remember Medley (though I was honestly surprised by how many people couldn't recall her) but I don't understand all this talk of impact. Would it be worse if we remembered what she'd done? Is it suddenly tragic if you think of her as another one of the first fillies Blackjack met on the outside, and another that she couldn't save? Is it worse if you remember the song she played with Lacunae, Blackjack and Priest? Is it suddenly terrible if she was one of the musical children tackling Blackjack to the ground for her debt to Charity? I know it's a story, but most of what I'm hearing sounds so... jaded. Never heard this much talk about the Harbinger that Blackjack killed coming out of Happyhorn.

You're tugging at people's heartstrings bro. Lyra

For me it would be getting to hang out with Rainbow Dash.
Zecora for me. As much as I like Rarity, I think I'd get along with Zecora much better, and I really preferred season 1 Rarity over season 2's manipulating-spike-into-giving-up-that-heart-gemstone Rarity.

If she didn't Spike would have finished his freak-out and run off to some cave. Sure, that would be an interesting ending, but him learning generosity has a place too.

(As for me... probably not one in canon. Save maybe Flim and Flam.)

No heroes, just ponies ecking out a meager existance in an inhospitable world. Outside of FoE, like, before the war? It's like Fallout's pre-war universe; quite different, and quite interesting.

I want to see the perspective of a wasteland merchant. Tossing around an idea of one that starts to follow a hero around for the income they produce.

I had to wait for the laughing to stop before I could type any of this.

Rock on, miss reporter. Rock on.

We need a welcome song.
I would have popped in earlier, but SOME NEW MEMBER made AT LEAST FIVE new pages of discussion that slowed down the catching up considerably. Anyways...

With the latest chapter he started pushing buttons I didn't know I had!
Spoiler:
I thought I was going to vomit my own intestines out. I didn't know I found that repulsive.

Spoiler:

Davids must be a psychology teacher, because there is no way a normal person can screw with my head this much. And I must be a masochist because I'm rereading Horizons before it's even done.
