((That's just the way the law was written. That way criminals cannot look up databases to find out if a person they want to rob has personal weapons or not. It tends to put people off if they might be walking into the barrel of a 12 gauge.))

((Oh it's better then that Katarn. In my county, in the town the courthouse is in, it is illegal for a chicken to cross the road. It's also illegal to eat ice cream on Sunday.

Those laws are still on the books, but nobody ever enforces them.))

((Oh, and for the greatest law ever made in Colorado: In the city of Alamosa (a little town in the middle of nowhere at the southwest corner of the state) it is illegal to throw missiles at cars. That's right, you are not allowed to THROW a MISSILE at a car.

Sec. 11-50.
Throwing missiles at vehicles. It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly project any missile at or against any vehicle or equipment designed for the transportation of persons or property.

((That's not even my favorite law. It's the best, but not my favorite. My favorite is that if you are riding a snow mobile and you have a gun, it has to be unloaded, in a case, and strapped to the side of the snowmobile. It cannot be removed from the case unless you are at a complete stop and off the snowmobile. And yes, they were very specific that this is only for snowmobiles. Somebody watched way too many James Bond movies...))

((Oh, and to top of the extremely lax gun laws in Colorado. If I am outside of the city limits of Denver, unless a business or building has a sign explicitly stating I cannot do so, I am allowed to walk in with a rifle strapped to my back as long as it is unloaded.

((Don't know about the one in texas, you might be thinking of the one in Kansas at Douglas and Broadway, where you have to get out and fire 3 shots into the air before passing.))

((Camo, You're also forgetting that it is perfectly legal in Colorado to open-carry a handgun in public within city limits even though you need a permit to concealed carry one, town and county laws aside of course.
