It's a shame we can't all get along, and your decision is a completely justified, if immoral, one. It's behaviors like this that make the game the paranoia-fest it is; people don't trust others, so they kill them.
Now, if everyone who'd developed this behavior suddenly were to stop practicing it, I think we'd find that about 80% of players are friendly instead of 10%.
I agree, it's an interesting societal outlook, this game provides.

I'm pleased to hear this. When I see them, logging out is usually the course of action, but when this becomes impossible in some way, shooting near/at them would seem to be a prudent course of action, depending on distance.Kippershy wrote:Hm, you're right. This is what makes the game so unique. You don't want to die, and some want to be good to others, but doing both usually conflict.Meleagridis wrote:

Spawned near Elektro, looted some residentials and the fire station, got an AK and an ALICE pack. And then I went to the church, where things got weird.
So there's a bus rammed into the front of the church. This on its own is hilarious, but then I find out that it's completely broken; it may have spawned there, rammed into the church. And then I got shot at and logged out. You aren't getting my ALICE full of canned goods, you fiend!

We watched it, 2 grenades killed all but 4 in the church. I thought that maybe someone would try to place satchels, or snipe at them, but I didn't see any of either.

Maybe ALICE packs have gotten a prevalence boost. 4 I know of have been found today.

I just did another check, still no extra food, but in the last check I found matches and in this check I got a map.
Found a 1911 & revolver in the same building, but since the nerf & ammo count fix, my G17 has become the best sidearm in the game, with the PDW only lagging behind because its iron sights.
G17 has the second biggest ammo capacity (to PDW) and third most common ammo chance (to Makarov/1911/revolver)
If you make each shot a headshot, it's the best gun of all.
lets not forget the flashlight attached either!
Still, no ALICE bags this time but I did come across a czech backpack again and more soda then I'll ever need.
Guess I'll just have to resort to hunting if it comes to the point where I've found no food and need to eat my last can.

I'm still at the barn at Vysota, and I have hunting gear. My brother also has an ALICE full of food and drink. With matches, you're pretty well set, though.
Also, I agree about the irons on the PDW. Bro is bringing me ammo when he has the chance so I can replace this Makarov. Nice for headshots, but almost useless otherwise.

I kind've regret buying the game now, definitely so. It hasn't afforded me anywhere near as much enjoyment as I'd expect for my money.

I've not gone further then boot camp yet.
Maybe I should give it a go.
As for Day Z, it's just tiring to always try so hard to be so sneaky sneaky, get all the equipment and all that - only to find that there's either nothing to really do after that or I don't even make it to that stage because some bandit gets me.
It just feels like a repeating cycle with no real benefit in repeating.

I've actually been running rather than sneaking and I find it more fun. Of course, I only do this near known buildings or travelling.
I do agree, it is a repeating cycle, but I find that each time I die, I learn something and it becomes more enjoyable. Taking risks, if I'm in the mood, enhances the game a good deal. If there were an actual goal other than to survive(on day 7 currently, I think.), like challenges, it would be even more fun.
I killed 3 goats and a cow, one of the goats being a practice sniping target. Zeroing is most useful. Only could carry 7 meat, though. I shot a jerry can a few times and it exploded, and I thought it would just catch fire like I'd read. 5 zombies were in the barn when I left the area.
