Unless I'm in company whom I trust greatly, I generally keep my mouth shut until I'm asked for my thoughts and/or opinions, and I try to word things in the least provocative way possible, making clear my friendly attitude. Unless someone goes out of their way to insult me in the process, I'm not going to have a problem. I prefer, but don't expect, the same attitude from other people.

Common sense isn't common.
Besides, I like challenging what people say to get them to further explain themselves. Especially when everyone seems to be agreeing with each other, 'cause then you might get to see if the consensus isn't quite so homogeneous after all!

For example, both Harmony and Frost prefer honesty in their interactions. Despite, if I'm reading this right, Harmony would not attend a funeral for someone he didn't like, stating "personal reasons". Frost might just to be respectful, but would keep his mouth shut rather than talk about feelings he doesn't have. So there's clearly a difference between data points, here

Well, if it was someone I felt so strongly about that I could have wished for their death (and you'd need to be a REALLY shitty person for me to feel that way), yeah, I'd try to excuse myself from the ceremony.

Otherwise, if I'm just feeling neutral about the person, or have simply a mild dislike of them, it'll depend on if I do it for the sake of the survivors / families / close ones who I may be on friendly terms with, or if I really have no reason to attend.

Well, you can make the new guy carry and use it, or you can make the team/squad leader carry it on top of the communication gear, navigational aids, extra sustainment gear and basic combat load he's already carrying. Because, clearly, you want to most heavily burden down the oldest and most weathered member of the element. Hell, why not just give them to specialized explosive techs and defeat the entire point of field-expedient explosives in the first place?

As long as everyone has at least a rudimentary grasp on how to operate everything so that if the 'specialist' gets hit, you're not screwed since no one else knows how to operate the radio

Any time you're emplacing in a position, everything is getting double-checked by your supervisors. And all military equipment is ruggedized, especially explosives. 

Honestly, if you can't trust the guy with a radio, you probably shouldn't be trusting him with a loaded fucking rifle, either. 

I wouldn't have a problem with you stating your opinions in such an insulting manner if your opinions weren't so insultingly wrong and uninformed.
