Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
I've been thinking about Tripp from Enslaved lately, she seems like one of those characters that most people would write off.
Tripp at the very beginning of the game states that she cannot get home and she will most certainly die or be recaptured without Monkey's help. She secures his help by putting a slave headband on him and reprograming it so that if Monkey gets too far from her or if Tripp dies Monkey dies.
What I've been thinking is even though Tripp was physically encapable of getting across country on her own, it was her skills that secured the help she needed to do so. It seems like the ability to get help from others is undersold.

- Unlikely meeting:
Using a slaveband to ensure help doesn't really seem the way to go though...

Most people probably didn't notice that because they were too busy hating Enslaved.
Edit: Upon posting this I checked and turns out I'm TOTALLY WRONG and people love Enslaved. Which is weird, In my mind I'm POSITIVE that the general consensus was that it was boring and un-interesting.

Some parts of the game aren't very good. The climbing for instance is dull, it's not like assassin's creed where you often have multiple ways to climb a building in Enslaved it's a linear push the analog stick in the direction of the glowing bits.
It's however a very colurful post apocalyptic world which you rarely get. Also you get to play a character that beats the hell out of giant mechs, which it turns out is pretty fun as long as your not playing on too hard a difficulty. Enemies were a little on the cheap side on hard.

Woo! *tiny dance* Jury duty cancelled once again! Still completely eligible to be called up at any time 'cos I never had to go to the court house, but I don't have to go tomorrow!

And of course I'm missing the machine gun range tomorrow because a drunk-ass E-4 can't make it to his guard shift tonight. Of course.

It's okay, I'll be sure to tell how much fun the M240B is to shoot while you're on your shift.

Looking over at the patch notes on Bungie.net it looks like they fixed the handcannon. Also looks like they gave the assault rifle a much needed nerf. I wonder if that's why comments are closed.

I really should get it. Unfortunately, I've currently exceeded what I was willing to spend on games this month, because food and stuff.

...Regarding this Five Nights at Freddy's thing, why don't they just lock the doors and have the security guard sit in a van outside?

Eh, I suppose. It still seems like a pretty obvious solution, though.
Or, actually, they could just go ahead and replace the animatronics.

I've been binge-watching about four hours' worth of Fairy Tail, and so far it's my favorite anime. The story is complex as hell. Perhaps a little predictable, but interesting.

Re: Anime
Granted, I mostly read manga over anime because I control the pace, but occasionaly I watch one here or there. Not a huge fan of fanservice for the sake of fanservice, and certainly not of love polygons. A bit uninterested in most shounen manga. In contrast to that, I enjoy Toriko, One Punch Man, and Kill La Kill. Fairy Tail to me is around the same level as the big three. Getting recommendations for Psycho Pass. Want to eventually watch Nanoha.

I've gotten all kinds of anime recommendations from my friends, that range from all over the anime spectrum. The two I hear mentioned the most are Mirai Nikki and Gurren Lagann. Speaking of this, is Trigun really worth watching? I've not heard much about it.

It's not bad, not amazing though. An amazing anime is Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, just the right balance of talking, action, and philosophy from an interesting perspective in a cyberpunk world (It's the only work that I've encountered where tapping an entire country's communications is seen as the right solution).

My taste in anime tends to range towards the serious philosophical side of the medium, so stuff like Madoka, Evangelion, etc. I'm pretentious as hell, so I get a kick out of deconstructions and philosophical examinations and whatnot. The fact that I still haven't seen Ghost in the Shell is a sin for which I burn every day.
I also love the shit out of more fun anime like Cowboy Bebop and KLK, though.

Same with me. Scienza have you seen Stand Alone Complex? It's philosophical without being pretentious.Scienza wrote:My taste in anime tends to range towards the serious philosophical side of the medium, so stuff like Madoka, Evangelion, etc. I'm pretentious as hell, so I get a kick out of deconstructions and philosophical examinations and whatnot. Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
@Iron
Gurren Lagann is proto-KLK, or KLK is the byproduct of Gurren Lagann, whichever way you want to spin it. And there will most certainly be spinning. I'd recommend it - it's weird, funny, and probably a classic at this point. Bit dated, in some ways, but worth watching IMO. Look for the elements in the art and dialogue that got carried over into KLK - if you made a drinking game of it, you would probably die.
