How is it possible for 3d realms has made a trailer that looks WORSE than Duke Nukem Forever?

Re: Psycho-Pass
Upon recommendation from you lot, I watched the first couple episodes. The plot's quite enjoyable once you let yourself accept some of the weirdness as science-magic, and it does a good job of having episodes that contain single stories but still link into the overall plot. The art style, though, is... eh. I'm gonna continue watching it, but it's one of those ones where sometimes they overdraw detail to make things more "intense" and are always making people's eyes point in different directions to show... intensity, or something, I guess. Just doesn't work for me. There are a couple other quirks, like the main character's head being misshapen, but overall it seems pretty well put-together, and if they're focusing more resources on good writing than good animation (and it's probably just a style I'm not used to, really), I'm not going to complain about that.

It doesn't help that I get nothing but Skrillex vibes from that hair.swicked wrote:...I wouldn't have even given them "cool haircut".Mister Frost wrote:It's probably the only new thing I've gotten from the Army that didn't leave me wondering where all the money went.
Anyway, that trailer is......
There's no way I can finish that sentence. That said nothing about the game whatsoever. Not what actual genre of game it is, not whether it's serious or humorous, not whether that nationalistic speech at the beginning is yet another "Oh, god, aliens/monsters/illuminati are trying to take over America" or yet another "America is turning evil and jingoistic and you have to stop it." Plot. All we know so far is that there's a choppily-animated character with a cool haircut, slutty outfit, clunky robot arm and pathetic attempt to be 'cool' in the form of a motorcycle with orange flames.
It was just a slow nothing of rotating cameras and bad animation.

Well, it's 9/11 again
I was ten when it happened and all I cared about at that time was the fact they cancelled our field trip because of it and it really pissed me off
I was more angry at my own country

My dad was working in the city when it happened (I lived in Brooklyn). Even though he wasn't anywhere near the Towers, it was fucking terrifying.

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
I was 12 and in 7th grade at the time. We were all heading over to first period class (social studies). As we filed in, the teacher had the radio on and was listening to the news on the radio. It was shortly after the first plane hit, and during the second plane hit. We all sat and listened for a few minutes even past when class was supposed to start before he finally turned it off and just sat there in silence with the most solemn look I had ever seen. Then we all talked about it for a while before starting with class as normal.
I was a little confused about it because it was the radio and when the said "plane" my first thought was of the smaller propeller-driven planes and I was thinking, "Okay, a couple planes hitting a building is pretty bad, but they're small and shouldn't do too much damage, right?"
Boy, was I in for a surprise when I got home after school and saw the replays on the TV...

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
I just got here, are we talking about 9/11? It was my day off work and I woke up just when the first tower got struck. It turned on the TV while I was cooking breakfast and watched. I thought for like 20 minutes that it was a movie. A horribly, poorly filmed movie so I changed the channel and the movie was on that channel too and then I changed the channel again and it was on that channel too and then I realized it wasn't a movie...
There was a guy outside mowing his lawn next door I heard him working on his riding mower so I went outside and flagged him down then invited him over to see it. We drank beer and watched as the world changed. I think the world was kind of in shock.
I went back to work the next day though and humanity reassured me that life would go on, petty and shallow as ever, when a woman called me and told me that she had paid 1500 dollars for a fur coat that she needed for a party that was being held that night. She had paid for it to be expressed and the online update kept saying it was in transit but wouldn't give her any more information. I had to explain to her that planes were grounded so all express deliveries were stopped. She demanded I call the government and get them to release the planes. I told her I couldn't, so she demanded I drive to where the plane was and get her coat out of the plane then drive it to her in Texas, before her party in 4 hours. The coat was in New York, inside a grounded jetliner... and she thought that was going to happen.
I gave her the 15 dollar express charge back and told her to have a good day. It was only after that hobag's call that I knew everything would be OK. Americans are just too damn stubborn to let a terrorist attack hurt us for long.

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
Oh, no, she was just wealthy. Wealthy people, the ultra-wealthy, are amazingly stupid. They never have to do anything for themselves so they have no common sense. I've had people call me and ask me to fax them jeans in the right size because they ordered one size too small. They promised if I fax them the right size they'll take the other ones back to the store the next day. They just needed the jeans now.
I've been asked to fax people refunds on more than one occasion. I had a woman who called in because her husband had taken the kids and flown down to their summer home but he didn't pack anything. He had let the maids, butlers, gardeners, and drivers all go so she had no one who could teach her how to pack clothes. She order 14 thousand dollars worth of clothing and had it shipped over night to her other house so the family would have things to wear until they went shopping.

I've never been rich, so I have no idea what I would do with that kind of money
put it in a bank account for a rainy day, I guess...
Or buy one of everything in Team Fortress 2...that's roughly $3000 or so...

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
I knew a girl in college who's father was really wealthy and she got a new car for her birthday but she didn't like the color and she knew he wouldn't just buy her a new one because she didn't like the color so she rammed it into a tree and told him that she was hit at an intersection and the other guy drove off.
That is how crazy wealthy people are. Ramming the car into a tree was her first, best idea of how to get him to pay for changing the paint job. I said, "You know, they can custom paint a car for like 500 dollars? You could get it painted any way you want, any color." and she was shocked. She thought cars only came in different colors from the dealer.

Chiming in here:
Re: 09-11-2001
Was in class when a teacher got a phone call telling them to turn on the television. School kind of got really quiet that day, quite possibly for the rest of the week. Each day had an extended moment of silence.
Re: Wealthy
Personally do not think all are like that. People want the best for their families, so they work hard to save money. Unfortunately that in turn lets the later generations have the opportunity to slack off and not have good money habits. Plenty of examples out there of rich quietly helping out the world without trumpeting to the press everytime they make a donation. At the same time, there are people who have bad money habits who are not rich themselves. Know of a person who, for lack of a better term, is a gold digger. Gets and drops boyfriends all the time, and cuts off AC just to have enough for luxury purses.
In other news, or lack thereof. TFYC have their game fully funded, without the assistance of an official game news announcement on any of the big game sites.

'Course, there's always the people who made their own wealth through hard work and intelligence. They tend to be a bit more grounded. My aunt works for a guy who started his company (an airplane-parts fabrication factory) on his own and now owns everything g (the building, the machinery, the property, ect) which is rare even for big-name companies. He pays his employees Christmas bonuses in the thousand-dollar range and personally makes sure his workers are taken care of (he drove down to the doctor's office where one of his people's insurance (through him) was being rejected).
