Eh, an emoticon. That overrides what I assume when somber himself (somberpony is his deviantart account?) makes a comment and Ruble expressses concerns over communicating with him in russian? I never really known a troll to to care that someone understands what they're saying, because whether or not they understand does not matter as long as it has a reaction. Really it seems you're labeling him as a troll to make yourself feel better about... I guess I'd call it circle jerking based on your desription of your point.

Well, an emoticon, plus the general tone of the OP, including a fair portion of odd complaints coming from someone who implicitly saw FoE as fine (notably on sexuality). Plus specifically saying that he was looking forward to watching the comment section explode. That too.

I'm not going to defend his opinion, because to be honest I don't know exactly what it is he's saying. But if you're trying to say PH is less sexual than foe you're being silly. Is PH pornographic? Not if you consider porn to simply be material that is sexually explicit. But is it fan service-y in a sexual way? Yes. Unless you're going to point out the part in FO:E where a party member walks behind Pip and shoves his cock inside her, or where pip walks down the stairs in full view of everyone else after being bukkaked. Or maybe the scene where a character facials a family member? (though I think that since been edited out of PH) That's just a few examples in a small number of chapters.

Don't remember the story exactly, but to the best of knowledge every sexual encounter was a fade to black. With the exception of 20.5 which to my memory was made abundantly clear that it was optional reading and didn't have any plot crucial details. It wasn't sprinkled in with the rest of the story.

Is any of this objectively bad? No. What you like when it comes to entertainment is pretty subjective. But it definitely exists in the story.

I do believe that it's a difference of degree, not kind, and a lesser difference than he seemed to believe, especially when you consider some of his specific complaints. And calling PH porn is just this side of ridiculous, and might cross the line when you consider that one of the two included an (optional) actual pornographic chapter, and it wasn't PH. Some of his objections are well grounded, but amount to matters of taste. That's all fine, and he's free to feel that way, even if I disagree. Some, like the statement in comments about what he wished Goldenblood had been, seem to reflect a completely different story than the one I read.

I distinclty remember a .5 chapter for PH that was just like the one in FO:E the only difference being it wasn't posted on EQD. Though to be frank I don't know the whole story behind it, no idea if it's considered canon or not.

But that's beside the point because 20.5 is completely removed from the story. It's like a dvd extra, complete avoidable if you don't like that kind of content. Which is good because that's the only ccontent it offers. A little bit harder to avoid BJ telling Lancer to look into her vagina for her hymen to prove she isn't a virgin and therfore not the maiden, or Rampage literally wandering off to suck dick.

Hm. I wonder why they didn't put Blackjack on the Queen or Ace of Spades? With the Dealer on the other, maybe.

That would have been thematically better, of course. But there's often a connotation of spades being superior to the other suits (e.g. "had X in spades"), and doing that could be interpreted as placing Blackjack/the PH in a higher position than the cast of the original. That's my guess, anyway.

There's some odd choices across the board there, honestly. Homage is the Ace of Spades? Really? Not Pip? (Which would also fix the precedence issue of letting BJ be QD.)

And I echo the "boo" at leaving Glory out. Put her in as Ace of Hearts, kick Dealer to Jack of Diamonds, and sorry, Stygius, nothing against you, but you're really not face-card significant in the story.

That's fair, but I think Deus (pre-tank) represents a more solid villain for the story. Goldie was always kind of a 'gray' character, and while a lot of the story involves cleaning up his messes and uncovering his secrets, he doesn't have much direct influence on the story. Cogs might be a more accurate analogue, but it would be difficult to depict her as a physical entity.

I get that, but although he's not really a villain per se, I do think of him (or maybe the idea of him or Blackjack's perception of him) as something of an antagonist, and probably in some respects the defining one for the story as a whole.
