Why do people keep drawing Lacunae as a blue alicorn? Not that it ruins the pics or anything, they're great, I'm just sort of perplexed.

My guess is a combination of path dependence (you see it done that way and think it's right?) and the fact that the alicorns were originally described as so dark as to nearly be black, and familiarity with dark navy blue/midnight blue makes blue seem closer to black than very dark purple or green.
