I have. I think it would work better, definitely. I don't see why you think it'd be better if they didn't rule 63 it, though.
...but changelings don't seem like they particularly need a base gender, anyway, being able to switch at will.

What I meant with that is that I could still see it as Chrysalis, the swap of role of Cadance and Shining I still see as better. Just don't see why there'd need to be a king thingamajing. A queen fits better with their seemed anatomy. But yeah, changelings seems rather swap-able gender wise. But as said; Rather sure there'd have been wailing if Chrysalis would have been a "trans". Thus, rather sure if they'd gone with that plot, they'd been forced to 63 to appease the conservatives and whatnot.

As for how they reproduce as a whole, have seen numerous ways suggested for this. And find quite a few interesting/plausible. Personally not too sure what the cocoons are for. And still unsure if I want to class the changelings as parasites, or potentially "viruses" or whatever they're called, they "lethal" parasites.

That would kill the host before the larvae had a chance to grow cause a lot of mammal species have a major blood vessel down there. In short that would cause the host to bleed to death. The more likely scenario is that chrysalis isn't a queen like most hive insects, but a alpha and that changelings reproduce normally. Meaning that she doesn't give birth to all changelings, rather the drones can reproduce.

As for what the larvael cocoons are for it's pretty obvious, cause no insect species puts their food source in a cocoon let alone alive. If chrysalis made celestia into a changeling that would utterly crush Equestria's spirit. Even if chrysalis did lose making celestia a changeling would still mean chrysalis wins no matter what and that chrysalis kidnapped the only pony with the power to stop her means chrysalis is a pretty damn smart villain.


Chrysalis' plan in a nutshell in a canterlot wedding:
1)Kidnap the only pony who can possibly stop you.
2)Drain the magic from the only pony who can keep the shield up.
3)Legally become co-ruler of Equestria
4)Drain enough magic from shining to beat up celestia
5)If that doesn't work invade with overwhelming force(she took over canterlot in mere minutes)
6)Stop the bearers of the elements of harmony from getting to the elements of harmony

However if even all that failed if chrysalis had made celestia a changeling you know how many ponies would have willingly surrendered? This isn't Luna we're talking about. Celestia for over a thousand years ruled over equestria in peace and raised the sun and moon for a thousand years and Equestria is so loyal to her that when Nightmare moon came back the first thing that popoed out of their mouths was "where's celestia?" and then the sudden realization that they were going to die of hunger and cold from the sun being blocked out. If Celestia was turned into a changeling then without a doubt the majority of Equestria would have willingly surrendered.

Not Alone (the author pulled it up from fimfic because of how much he hate The Conversion Bureau and didn't want to continue feeding the beast)
Conquer The Stars (a sidestory / sequel to the previous one, and on hiatus since the Not Alone got pulled from FimFic by its author)


Basically, a big fuckyou to misanthropes.
