Oh, I dunno, I think it's pretty clear myself. It's about the whole "Down With Molestia" drama, and how (yes, this is a real thing) some people actually stalked the girl who "launched" the first attacks against Princess Molestia (going by the handle of "Pinkie Pony", IIRC), and sent her rape and death threats.
And the message here is basically smug satisfaction at showing how assholish the opposition in the conflict is, and putting them in front of a choice : recognize the people who made these threats are assholes and de-associate themselves from them, or continue to accept them and become accomplice of their assholishness.
From the point of view of Cupidite (the author of this image), it's a win either way.
Nice move on her part.

Well I think she made her point pretty poorly then. She jumps from that to feminism and rape culture. Or I may be confusing that between what her fiancé wrote but she never seemed to make any clear point to me.

She also claimed the people who did that were anonymous iirc so exactly how do you go about disassociating with them? Unless she wants you to avoid the site it happened on entirely.

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
I'm not exactly sure how that's some "Great Moral Victory". She's basically saying "Hey, see the extremists on your side? They're assholes." To which the opposition will reply "Yeah. Yeah they are. Still, though, 'down with Molestia' is bullshit."Harmony Ltd. wrote:Oh, I dunno, I think it's pretty clear myself. That's like saying "People who commit hate crimes against gays are criminals! And now those not in support of gay rights will be forced to admit that those peoples' criminal acts are in violation of the law! Genius!"

*shrug* I didn't say it was objectively effective. Just that from her point of view it was a well played move.
But we've already discussed the larger issue at length anyway, so, meh.

What particularly confuses me was when she said "Now THAT'S funny." She completely lost me on what, exactly, was supposed to be so funny. All in all, I get the impression of someone who's so far up their own ass they're at risk of choking on their head.

Hey guys! did you know bread and water was not given to prisoner because "it was cheap" or "tastes bland"? It was due to being the combination of food that often, and mainly gives some of the biggest constipations possible :D
@Frost: Hum, not too sure, but that name seems possible.
Also, regarding DDO, the half-orc racial enhancement got a "Bash Lock" skill: "Attempts to open a lock - WITH YOUR FIST!" how can anyone not love that? xD
And eh, imo, DDO is rather decent. It's not amazing, but got a lot of customisation, and is rather free imo. In several senses. I like it compared to most other stuff offered out there.
@Robo: Koe-what? xD And trust me, we got really, really shitty laws about rape and other certain things.

Here's my thoughts on the DWM:
It's happened before. JJ got banned, got unbanned people got upset started spewing death threats at each other's sides, then nothing happened. Then again, JJ got banned, got unbanned people got upset started spewing death threats at each other's sides, then nothing happened.
This is probably the third time askprincessmolestia has tried to been taken down, but the thing is that exceeds the number of flags you can report on someone like how Yamino has exceeded the number of times you can flag someone as well. What that means is DWM is pointless cause any amount of times you flag the blog now automatically goes in the trash can. As for the blog? I only follow it for gamer luna. As for the topic of "well what if you were raped?" You can't rape if it's consentual and if you say, "Well you could be raped" I don't think you understand how rape works.
My whole thoughts on this:
My reaction to the drama:

Completely off topic, but IIRC a few people were looking forward to Wasteland 2. Well a pre-alpha level demo vid was released yesterday.

And? What's your opinion of it now? What about it switching to squares rather than hexes? (I don't care, squares probably make levels easier to design) Otherwise it looks awesome to me.Downloaded Skill wrote:Completely off topic, but IIRC a few people were looking forward to Wasteland 2. But why does every game developer feel the need to point out "OUR GAME HAS CHOICES THAT HAVE CONSEQUENCES! DO YOU GET IT? YOU DO THINGS AND THINGS HAPPEN! ISN'T THAT NEW AND EXCITING!?"

Because other games either don't have such choices, while others have stupid 'morality' meters (see karma in Fallout 3) and they have to point out their system in order to clear stuff upScyto Jubilee wrote:I like it, and I'm excited for Wasteland 2...stringtheory wrote:And? The ability to make choices has been standard in RPGs for a while now, I thought. In fact, the basics of it have been around since the original Fallouts.stringtheory wrote:Because other games either don't have such choices, while others have stupid 'morality' meters (see karma in Fallout 3) and they have to point out their system in order to clear stuff upScyto Jubilee wrote:I like it, and I'm excited for Wasteland 2...stringtheory wrote:And? And they still have a 'cause and effect' meter, perse, they just said they hide it.

If I were a monster, I could certainly think of worse things to be than a kickass reptile-gryphon (Which is really just a dragon, which would be my answer).swicked wrote:Okay, see, I was on a dating program only, since I've never seen one, it was really just the "Let's make a date!" sketch from "Who's Line is it, Anyway?" I was sitting on the dating stool and the other stools (might have been 3, might have been an infinite number in a line going beyond the horizon) were set on the carpet-covered stage next to me, again, much like with Who's Line. I can't remember if there was an audiance as they never said anything.
I don't remember much of who was on the stools other than the first one was you, Frost, and you were totally winning, even if I don't remember what you actually said.
I think the second one was Robo, but I don't remember anyone else.
The only question I remember asking was something like "If you were a monster, what would you be?". Immediately I was this sort of knotted ball of large, coiling snakes (no transformation or anything, I was just it). You became a sort of half-eagle, half-lizard thing. Sorta like a griffin, but with the lion parts replaced with reptile.
You had a really, really long tongue.
...and that's it. I woke up or something, then.
Although I hate to disappoint you, but I could never appear on a dating show, because I'm saving myself for.....pppffft, nope, can't say that with a straight face.

But in Wasteland 2 you can move in eight directions! That's two more than six!swicked wrote:...because fallout and fallout 2.stringtheory wrote:Why not?swicked wrote:I haven't been following that, but non-hexes doesn't sound good to me.stringtheory wrote:And? I like the extra tactical options of being able to move in six directions instead of four.
Plus I'm just more used to six.

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
Well on Wasteland 2 I am still looking forward to it, but I prefer hexes because squares don't handle moving diagonally well. You often need to move diagonally in combat, especially for melee fighters, and it adds inefficiency considering actions are precious.
On the topic of choice in games it's because games really can not handle morality and choices well. It's part of financial concerns, having to write all the possible choices and getting the voice acting for it, part bad game design. Pigeonholing choices into a binary good or evil just creates unfortunate implications and causes people to act certain ways because of rewards, not morality. So it comes down to just being good or evil because of minmaxing.
I don't think Wasteland will pull of choice as well as they say, but I'll keep an eye on it.
