It must be the mods you have on swicked. Granted, I was never really swimming in ammo, at least not ammo I actually had a weapon for, but the police pistol got me through hard times. Throwing spears as well. The part you just described I usually try to set traps, recovered mines and gasbombs. You're probably already past the next part but I don't think the Ghost people you didn't kill are still there on the way back and the ones that are there may be able to run past.
In other news, I went back to my "Super Pro-NRC" game and went the Yes Man path at the end. Gotta say.. the side trip to install Yes Man in the damn and turning the power on broke up the awesomeness that is simply walking across the dam with guns blazing and all my hard work to get allies paying off.
All that's left to do is do a pro-Legion run and beat my Hardcore mode game. And apparently play Roulette 10 times, Caravan 30 times, and pick pocket 50 people for achievements.

The RoosterTeeth guys did a video on it. Think they said the most reliable way to win is to fill your deck with 7s, 8, and 10s. At least I think those are the cards you need. Don't quote me on that and I'll go back and look for the video to make sure.
Never would have thought tracking down all those damn warheads in the Divide would be as hard as it is. And I guess I'm not good at pickpocketing because even with a Stealth of 100 AND a stealth boy on I can't seem to not get caught. And no, I'm not trying to steal equipped items.
I had luck pickpocketing Fiends though....

Oddly enough I never put myself in a position where I'd have to kill Dean. But I also kinda cheated and learned that you don't make the barter check when you first meet him. Dean doesn't enjoy being reminded of his "bow tie" and generally wants to be treated as he's better then you.
He's an ass, always has been and always will be, but he was an ass I could like.
Another thing to not quote me on, but I think it's implied that Elijah was pretty much lying the whole time, I mean more so then what's obvious. Like he said, the holorifle he gives you is "inferior" but if you happen to tune your Pip-Boy to his radio frequency you'll hear him complained that he gave you the only working model. And between old age and a Mentat addiction his brain is a bit addled.
There are some perks you could get but how useful they are is... questionable. Christine can teach you how to make more chips, which does have a use outside of the Add-on. Dean can teach you how to make a special martini that acts more like a different version of buffout than alcohol. And Dog, not God, can teach you how to kill Ghost people a bit easier. I go out of my way to destroy the limbs of any Ghosts I kill that are still in one peice, but I think the perk he teaches you makes it so you don't have to do that.
All of these are dialogue options with them.

Yeah pretty much how I feel about those perks in general.
Of course, since you beat Dead Money... take any of those gold bars?

No, there's no real point to getting the gold bars other than subverting the message of "It's letting go". I also enjoy going to the Gun Runner's afterwards, selecting a huge amount of ammo from them and then dropping a gold bar or two so I don't really have to pay anything.
And I agree with that. Auto-stimpacks are way too useful haha.

I've loaded up with gold bars at full. Died 5 times, while trying to make 'swift escape', while my collar was beeping, until I've found few shortcuts.
After that..yes. Gun Runners and BUY EVERYTHING!

On average I can get out with 8 gold bars. One usually has to planned in advance to get all of them in one go. Have to convince Elijah to come down and enter the vault, be lucky enough to be given at least one Stealth Boy and not use it before the Vault, and then there's the timing of walking out and around so that you can sneak around Elijah while over encumbered and not get caught till you're right at the elevator.
I also admit that when it comes to New Vegas I'm a greedy bastard with a hoarding problem. I need to have at least three copies of each weapon and armor(if I can manage it) in my collection and every single last cap I can earn.
I at least try to be different with my weapons though. One is the base model, one that's been fully modded, and the unique version of it if there is one.
Â
Can't help you on what to do with Christine swicked. Don't know what you did that could turn her red but I guess it's possible. Didn't happen to force her through the small space to get to the control panel rather than activating the secondary control panel?

Re: Last Fallout New Vegas Run
I can offer some advice for that plan swicked. I admit that the game is disproportionately stacked in favor of pro-NCR missions. It is WAY easier to do NRC missions to raise your standing with them that doesn't include actively screwing over the Legion.
The Legion on the other hand doesn't has all that many missions for them that doesn't include making the NRC hate you. Easiest way I found is collect NCR dogtags and bring them to Cottonwood Cove. And the fastest and easiest way to get those is to hunt down the randomly spawning NCR troops. Sneak attack kills and not being caught lets you keep a good standing with the NCR while increasing it for the Legion.
Oh, and you need 50 to gain a Liked status for the Legion, to where they'll give you the key to the safe house.

Project Nevada + Random start mod as BoS Exile (gives ability to wear PA, but gives you bad rep with BoS) + Â Slavaged Power armor from REPCONN + encounter with any other faction...RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
Seriously, was walking towards clinic near crimson caravan and there were standing bunch of NCR soldiers near barrel..and then they start shooting..bullets pinged from my armor and...I died..horribly. Damn those carbines...

Finally found and rewatch that video the RoosterTeeth guys made. Apparently the object of Caravan is to have at least two of three stacks that add up between 21 and 26. Jack said he found making a deck of mostly 10s, 9, and 7s worked out for him since they add up to 26 the highest you can have, but this was back in 2010 and apparently there's been some AI upgrades so there's no telling how well that strategy works.
Here's the video if you want to give it a try.

Re: Last Fallout New Vegas Run
The strategy still works you fill your deck with 7/9/10 then discard till you have at least three 7's and 3 9s with the rest tens. First step is always the same you each place down your first cards. Then you ignore whichever one the AI is playing for and hit the other two stacks. You can mix in a few jacks to your deck so you can fuck over the AI if they start getting closed to two completed before you.
Fill out whichever two they are not playing. Play the 7 then the 9 then the 10, or the 10 then 9 then 7.
I've beaten the game for the last time with No God's No Masters.
I'll put up final thoughts and some screenshots of my endpoint tomorrow. To tired tonight.

Fun trick, turn down all your graphic options in areas that crash lots then you can turn back up after. Lots of crashes in New Vegas are out of memory errors since the game is horrible about memory leaks.Moodyman90 wrote:Good to know, now if only New Vegas wouldn't crash when I try to buy those two 7 of hearts from Goodsprings.

If you're using HD blood texture mod (or something along the lines), turn that off, it causes game to crash, when you buy cards.

Re: Last Fallout New Vegas Run
So we are some eighty hours into my 4th play through. Â I've taken the Dam for House and executed the Brotherhood and Victoria on House's behalf. Â I've taken it for the NCR and becoming Hero of the Bear. Â For my last playthrough I took it for myself as I did during my first playthrough. Â Not because I wanted to rule Vegas but because I feared what House would do with the NCR and his tolerance of slavery under Caesar. Â
A shot from the Underground Bunker mod just before I went off to save the Dam one last time.
In this short view you can see little in game mementos from the DLC the Divide, you can see a few trinkets in the window from Old World Blues and in the corner a sign for completing Legend of the Star. Â On the main line little head cutouts for fully stocking the Thorn, uncovering the secrets of the vaults and breaking the banks at all the casinos. Â The last slave collar is a nod to Dead Money.
Here's a better view of the inside of that room.
Much more clear are the various things the bunker mod adds as you beat the various missions. Â Better visible is the rock for penetrating the Forbidden zone which is Forbidden, the NCR radio for getting adored with the NCR, a pot from completing the missions for the Sorrows in the northern canyons. Â
This is why I love this mod so much and why anytime I talk about New Vegas I mention it. Â It's the housing mod all other such mods and all in game player housing should be judged by. Â Look here a view of flag's taken from settlements I helped or hurt.
Right are the flags, in the center is the kitchen, left is the tiny greenhouse. Â In this little area there are literally 70 things that will or won't display depending on what missions you've done to this point.
I show you all this to once again say if you play New Vegas look up the Underground Bunker mod.
One last show to convince you how handy this mod is, it's single greatest feature
See this? All that? When you first visit the armory these walls are blank, there are pegs on the walls for guns and other weapons to be hung but this is not a cheating mod. It's a mod for collectors. Those blank spots are for what is in my inventory mostly. The La Carbine and the All American I never got just because by the 80 hour mark I had exhausted all conversation options with all companions and completed 96% of all quests in the entire game. I just could not keep playing at that point because all that was left was the busywork stuff.
More on the game tomorrow. Tonight I wanted to get my reactions on paper so to speak.

I... must... have... that mod.
For the sole reason then to have that wall of weapons. I've mentioned this before but I hoard in these games, have at least three different versions of the same weapons. And due to how physics work it's a pain to place them around the room I've designated as the weapons room in the Lucky 38.

IIRC there's mod, that can re-bind companion's 'home', so when you sent, for example, Veronica 'home, she'll go where you've said, not to 188 post.
Also, there's good companion, fully voiced and with own quest. Search for Willow on new vegas nexus.

Re: Last Fallout New Vegas Run
Speaking of Willow I used her companion mod because she's a good companion and a better example of what companion should be. She offers enough fine control to let you pre-position her for stealth attacks or enough off buttons to prevent her from moving. The normal compainons no matter what you tell them will charge enemes if they lose sight of them. Willow won't which means I can stack her in front of a door in cover then sneak around grenade the room then run past traps and Willow will draw them in with gunfire in case they get lost.

I know what you're saying. But every companion have own personality or it would've been just husk, that we fill however we want (some kind of android might fit here, but not human/ghoul/whatever).
So developers give you different characters with different personalities and let you do what you want.
I'd like to drag along many companions, not one, two or four, like modern games do (I understand, it's to bring balanceto the Force in game, so MC won't have own private army..on other hand, why character should be this lone hero/villain/just random person, I don't know. Why not give ability to gather as many on your side as you can?
Sure, it'll be pain in the ass to manage all of them or care for all of them, unless they are tailored pretty good by developers.
My point is - one companion is good, but it should be made as good as..um..Garrus, for example. But if developers would give player ability to gather small group, not 'you can take only 3 more with you' kind of group, but rather 'you and what army? That army' kind of. Probably will tick balance in game hard and companions will get in your way, unless they'll have good AI..oh well.

And if it's one companion, as you've suggested, it would be hard to make him not 'that annoying dude/gal' since you don't have alternative to him/her. And while building up character of your companion would be great idea, I doubt they will do it.

Re: Last Fallout New Vegas Run
Kleptomania Quest: Big MT complete! None were spared, not even the clipboards or the coffee cups.
So during the Steam sale, the NV DLCs were going for $0.59, and I caved and bought one. And I'm back to playing after months of absence. So I looted everything, completed all the sidequests, and emptied the crater of everything living but the plants. (I thought Ratslayer was OP, but the advanced LAER with upgrades has 108 damage per shot!) Got a few awesome laughs from the credit sequence and convincing the think tank that I'm the evil Dr. Mobius. (Though I'm too much of a nice person to not load an earlier save and win with friendship instead, even if it costs xp.) So I loaded up the Sink's containers with my tons of extra junk, and set out to raze that 'new' casino place with superior firepower, armor, and ample supplies from my excessive looting of loot crater.
What happened is exactly as hilarious as y'all think.
Now I expected the pink cloud and super-ghouls from reading FoE, but I didn't expect loosing my entire inventory. Heh. Anyways, I've only had that intro conversation withElija Eliga that evil + greedy old guy and explored the first area a bit, so I might be wrong here, but I don't get the big deal with the ghost zombies. Maybe it's because I'm running Project Nevada and/or it's because I have 90 in energy weapons, 6 luck and some good perks, (Better Criticals, Finesse, Laser Commander,) but so far I've always gotten a disintegrating critical hit on them with the Holorifle in three shots or less. Have I, at level 25, optimized myself against these guys without even knowing it, or do they get more dangerous later on? Anyways, does anyone have some mostly non-spoilery tips for me? This is still my first run in the game, and I don't want to use the wiki for stuff until I've finished the stuff in question. Also, should I turn on hardcore mode? It was tedium to me earlier since I'm good enough at looting that it was never a problem, but if that changes in Dead Money then maybe I'd like the extra challenge.
Speaking of looking at stuff in the wiki, the cut ending to OWB is darkly hilarious. Science falls, everyone dies or worse.
