If he didn't want to be caught, he would've killed himself. This isn't some poor uneducated fool. This is a smart young man. He knew what he was doing until the very end, and i'll never say a word again if he isn't smiling his ass off as he's being questioned.

If he wanted to be caught, he probably wouldn't have run so much. Sometime after his brother was killed I think he started having second thoughts, would he?

I'll admit, I don't know much about criminal psychology, but I could believe him rethinking his situation after he was all alone.

When it comes to criminals, I try to keep things simple. Thief, mugger, murderer, etc. There's no need to romanticize or exaggerate. Calling him a monster is to call him something more or less than just a man.
