Best I can figure the plan was cover the entire area so the player couldn't click on any of his bases or units to counter attack.

I also want to say that was staged but I my knowledge of starcraft is laughably low. To the point if I tried to play I'd lose before my first click.

It was to block his entire base off so he couldn't counter while he destroyed the enemy base with the units loaded inside the Overlords, then make his own.

And yes, it is staged. The yellow player had missile towers that should have destroyed a lot of those overlords, but they didn't attack. So it was likely during a custom game of some kind to make sure his overlords couldn't die.

Edit: And speaking of 1 year anniversaries. Yesterday was 1 year after Ch.39 of project horizons came out. Which means I am OFFICIALLY 1 year behind on the story.

The scenario is Phantom Mode; one or two players are Phantoms, whose goal is to kill all of the Paladins and Slayers. They get minerals and gas per second and have a gradually-expanding supply cap. Paladins get less resources per second and no supply bonus, but are on the Slayer side. The Slayer side must kill all of the Phantoms and vice versa. In this situation (according to the video's description), the players were some friends goofing around with various self-imposed challenges. The challenge of the video's maker was to win without combat units. Yellow might've feigned his confusion (not unlikely, considering how you get "under attack" messages at the uploader's actions, but it's funny nonetheless.
