What's the point of the "Killed by X" message? I got it back when that's how we handled loot, but I thought when it came to bosses it was decided we were going to roll among those who participated.

Because sometimes multiple people attack the same target before I can post that it died, so I do it to clarify who killed it just in case there is confusion.
