A roleplay isn't about the GM or any of the players; it's about the characters. It's the GM's job to put the characters in sticky situations in which they are actually in serious danger.
I think that Camo's doing his job as GM, and since you all signed up to be part of his RP fully understanding of the rules, it shouldn't be such a source of conflict that characters can and do die, since it's hardly news. I think that the slaver's detonation was kinda justified; Camo has to write each NPC from their point of view, after all.
Still kinda sucks though. Doesn't really mean that it should be retconned, I don't think.
