a not shit pair of over-ears will probably set you back at least $100 minimum, while a good pair of earbuds are much cheaper (mine are $60), plus they fit in a pocket, but that's just my preference

I've been using a set that cost under $5, have perfect sound, and have stood up to my abuse for years. The hardware is not in any way complicated or expensive, and anyone charging more than a hundred dollars for it is ripping you off. Just because you pay thousands of dollars for a copper wire doesn't make it carry electricity any better.

So, I just had my house inspection earlier than I thought it was booked for. Usually it's around 11am but today it was 10am.
Thankfully I've had the house all clean and did some final touches this morning - but I had a choice, take a shower & brush teeth or get the last of my washing up done first.

I chose to do my washing up first.
Half way through that, knock on the door. Wasn't sure if I heard it or not so I go to look, my inspector is letting herself in. (She's quite mousy.)

Thankfully I at least had some jammy bottoms on, but the screen on my TV had this, and she had a good look at it.

I like both styles, then. Over-ear's best, I guess, just for listening around other people, but I expect it's also more expensive.

FYI, I've had earbuds for over a year now, and not only do they give off a better, clearer sound than my "hi-fi", they are also really good at blocking external sound in the public transportation systems.

And they cost me only €45 or so.

It's these ones.


Downside is that when I start running they fall off from my ears after a few meters, so if you want to do running with what you're searching, you should find some with ear supports, like these.


I showed you branded stuff, so of course it'll cost a bunch. But you can certainly find non-branded stuff that does the same for cheaper.

As a general advice, though, if possible you should try any sound equipment before buying it, because more often than not, the piece of equipment with the better technical specifications does not sound better than the one with less good specifications.

Ooooh, that's a good one. I've not read the original in fucking ages, though it's possible that it would fit in well with Canterlot.

Something about the nightlife of a relatively big city, with flashing neons, gambling halls, strip-clubs and prostitutes in the streets ("love me when you love me, do me what you want").

Probably a bar scene where the party is talking to some informer / employer, while on the scene someone is stripping on the sound of deafening music and the other clients are going wild.

By the way, I think that the next release of my mod will contain the crystal ponies.
Of course, in the grim darkness of My Little Fortress, they'll have to actually be assertive and merciless to survive. And their skeletal structure will be composed of crystals. Actually, I'll add new roaming beasts that also have that.
