He just basically was told that everything he had just done to try and remove the problem(himself) did the exact opposite of what he wanted to do. At this point he just wants to die. To end it. But he can't have a quick death, because he doesn't think he deserves that.

INB4 Where is Scorch: Scorch is out hunting at the moment, trying to find one of Charcoal's favorite foods. He thinks it might help cheer him up like it had done in the past.
