Suddenly food on table jumped along with bump, that table received from below. "Ow....."
Slightly sleepy and now with expression of hurt on her face Novae appeared from under the table. "Did I've hear my name?" Novae was rubbing her head and yawing in same time.

[Tytan]

"I hope that day isn't for a long time."

Clock is visibly surprised by the table jumping. She was even more surprised when the zebra came out from under the table, "Dyuh... Good morning?"

[XT Vengeance]

Charcoal has a surprised look on his muzzle. "Novae, what are you doing under the table?"

[Katarn]

"Sleeping, duh! Most secure place ever! Nopony would look for me there!" Grin. "...You won't tell anypony about my secret lair?"

[Tytan]

"Uh... Of course not. Your secret's safe with me."

[XT Vengeance]

"Sleeping under a table in a tavern isn't what I would call secure," Charcoal replies. "Can't you afford to stay in one of the rooms?"

[Katarn]

"Ofcourse I can! See." Lifts her duster and shows her new leather armor. "It's just cozy here..and closer to food."

[XT Vengeance]

"Look, if you were hungry, all you had to do was say so," Charcoal says to the striped mare.

[Katarn]

"Well...I don't mind chewing on something." Sniffs the air. "What do you have here?"

[XT Vengeance]

"It is called pepper steak. I didn't have any beef, so I had to use pork. Turned out pretty well though. Here, you can have what is left of mine," Charcoal says, pushing his bowl to the zebra mare along with a fork.

[Katarn]

"Meat..." Sigh. "At least it smells good." Novae looks at fork, but instead she grabs one piece with her muzzle. She tilted her head, so piece would easily can be swallowed, part of it hit her on her nose, and only then slowly got into her mouth, leaving oily imprint with bits of paper on her nose.
"Taftef goof." Novae said with full mouth.

[XT Vengeance]

"I'm glad you like it. Clock here can hardly handle the peppers."

[Katarn]

"At least it's some vegetables with meat. It's not like I'm fastidious, but I can hardly eat. I mean meat. Even if it tastes good, I prefer some more equine-ish food. Don't get me wrong, I like what you've make...." Blinks few times. "I was rhyming again?"

[XT Vengeance]

"No, you didn't. Besides, we can digest meat, so why not eat it? I'd like to see you make a vegetable dish that tastes nearly as good as a steak."

[Tytan]

"Am I the only one who can't handle spicy food?" she says as the burn starts to alleviate.

[Katarn]

"Well, it surely tastes good. Better than Cram, for sure." Nods to Clock. "Yup."

[Tytan]

"Had a feeling that was right... Oh well, at least it tastes great." Clock eats another mouthful.

[XT Vengeance]

"You said that about everything I've cooked for you so far Clock."

[Tytan]

"And I'll stop saying it when it stops being true."

[Katarn]

"You're such adorable." Novae says, while finishing another piece.

[Katarn]

"Okay, won't be bothering you two. Have a good time!" She grabs another piece. "Almost leaves kitchen. "Oh, Char. You're really good. You could make caps by selling what you've made! Take care." Waves with hoof and leaves.

[XT Vengeance]

"Well that was strange."

[Tytan]

"I try not to be surprised when she does that sort of thing, but I always am."

[Guest]

Tumble gets Flower ready for the day and exits the inn. Outside he quickly makes his way to absolutely everything. He trots through the door and up to the counter.

[XT Vengeance]

"I still don't get why she slept under the table. Even with armor it would have been safer to sleep in a room."

[Tytan]

"Old habits maybe. The first place the people who owned her would have looked for her is where she slept."

[XT Vengeance]

"Owners? Novae was a slave?" Charcoal asks in confusion.

[Tytan]

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize she didn't tell you. She's not exactly secretive.

The way she told it her parents sold her for money for food. They used her talents to fix stuff, and nothing else. Her dad won her in a card game from her previous owners and he's been watching over her ever since."

[XT Vengeance]

"So her family didn't want her? I guess her and I have more in common than I thought." Charcoal gets a shocked expression on his face when he realizes what he had just said.

[Tytan]

Clock sounds sad, but she tries to cover it with rationalization, "I realize it's sounds heartless, but it was probably their only option besides starving to death. They probably figured she'd at least be fed."
