He lets out a sad sigh and rubs his temples.

Searchlight gave Ditzy a sympathetic look and rubbed her shoulder.

To Ditzy:

"A-a little. I don't know much about him, just that he..." she leaned in close and spoke softly. "Just that he came out of nowhere a few years ago and started recruiting. I don't know anything else."

[Guest]

"Thanks Ditz, you helped a lot." He flashed the mare a still somewhat nervous smile and exited the shop. He quickly trotted out of the gate and turned himself toward where he remembered the slaver camp was.

[CamoBadger]

Without warning, Martini sprinted frantically into the tavern and looked over at the group. "Oh thank the Goddesses I found you!" she yelled and ran to them. "You have to help, please!"

Red Lotus teleported to her with a look of panic across her face. "Please? We'll pay well, we promise!"

[Tytan]

Clock looked at the twins and stood up, "What is it?"

[Ketchup]

Quiver stands up and looks at the pair inquisitively.

"What do you need help with?" Charcoal asks, setting down his book.

[CamoBadger]

"It's the radio!" Martini quickly replied and ran behind the counter to turn on the broadcast.


A blur of static filled the tavern at first, but it was quickly replaced by the voice of Pon3.

"... that's right everyone, Dirtside has gone dark. Apparently everyone has just disappeared overnight, with no bodies or belongings anywhere to be seen. I would like to extend my condolences to all who lived there or had loved ones in the town. I only hope they turn up."


"Please! Please go see if you can find what happened?" Lotus begged the group. "Mom and Dad lived there, we'll give you anything, please just find out what happened to them?" Tears began to trail down the mare's cheeks as she pleaded and looked around the group fearfully.

[XT Vengeance]

Charcoal stands up immediately. "I'm going. I'm not going to just stand by while this kind of thing happens."

[Tytan]

"Same."

[Ketchup]

"Me too, where's Dirtside?"

[Katarn]

Snores, while head rests on the table.

"That's...bad...Could you give us directions and..if possible, town's layout?"

[Ironmonger]

May as vell bring a soldier. He says as he stands.

[CamoBadger]

"Thank you, thank you so much!" Martini thanked them and teleported to each of them with a hug.

"It's west of here, about 13 hours walking. It's not very big, just a few shacks around a town hall and a bar. I can draw a map of how to get there if you need it."

Quiver's PipBuck beeped loudly as the location was somehow found and marked on the device's map.

[Katarn]

Nudges Quiver. "Now you understand why I'm so excited about your Pipbuck?"

Snores.

[XT Vengeance]

"We'll do everything we can to help," Charcoal says with an easy smile.

"I'd suggest we all move out soon. The quicker we get there, the more likely it is that we'll find them."

[Orm]

"We better get going then." Searchlight got up from the table and made his way out of the tavern.

[Ironmonger]

"Zings vere starting to get boring around here anyvay." He moves for the door.

[Ketchup]

"I had no idea it could do that..."
Quiver pauses.
"Well, let's go."

[Katarn]

"Ay ay Captain!" She salutes and trots to Jayne. "C'mon, wake up. We have job to do."
Snores

"They will pay us."

"Ju-just f-few more minutes, mom..."

Sigh. "They will pay us anything."

"Okay, I'm awake, who do you need me to kill?"

Giggles.

As they are walking down the road, the group has yet to see anything or hear anything aside from the occasional parasprite.

Scorch catches the sight of sand moving slightly in the dunes around the group as they cross through the desert, and catches sight of a single flashing light half-buried in the dirt where the group is about to step.

"SQUAWK!"

"Stop! Ambush. They set a minefield." Charcoal yells to the others, backing away and readying his rifle.

[Tytan]

Clock freezes.

[Katarn]

"Mine..as is yours or mine 'BOOM'?" Looks at Char in confusion
