Does anyone feel like this episode was a screed against flanderization? (I'd link the trope page, but I'm sure you guys have things that need doing) Pinkie pie, while not exactly as nuanced a character as the rest of the mane 6, has more depth than the clones which just reduced her to a "I like fun!" character. However it seems like that is the Pinkie that gets screen time in most other episodes. I hope that this episode starts a trend where she gets more depth and development in the future because she currently sits at the bottom of my Mane 6 list.

I was really wondering why Pinkie didn't Pinkamina that episode, then I realized it would have made her stand out...

Anyway, loved Rarity's outfit at the start, and loved her idea of a party with cucumber sandwiches (Eeee!).

I rather like Rarity

I was honestly hoping they'd get the legend of the mirror pond from Zecora, though. Like... Pinkie remembered the rhyme showing the way to the pond, and what to do, but Zecora had the rest regarding the consequences of the pond. It would have added a cool depth and world-building aspect to it.

Although, admittedly, the last time Twilight went to Zecora for advice on a problem all she got back was "You're doomed.", so I can understand why she'd be loath to trek out to ask her about any further problems.

For me, her going Diane would've obviously made it too easy. But I also have an possible idea. She went Pinkamena in Party of One because she thought her friends hated her, not because she's sad. This shows in the Smile Smile Smile song, as well as in the episode. She knows the problem was her own fault, and thus was sad for her own decisions, not because others hated her for what she was.

First thing I thought of when I saw the fingers was the .MOV series.

Heh, a sister of mine disliked Pinkie in the episode within the first twenty seconds. Interrupting someone when they're concentrating on something is a berserk button for her.
