After being released from the hug, Shayle's nerves slightly began to calm themselves, but her tears continued. The zebra curled herself into the corner of the couch, trying to become as small as she could.

Well tell her if she wants to come I'd be happy to have her. *She taps her chin.* Now there's the issue of where you two will stay, both of you staying in that cave of his won't do. If you don't mind sharing with your sister you can have my bed and I could take the couch.

Mom, Nova bought that big mansion in town.

Oh....Red I want to talk to you in the kitchen.

*Red follows her with a confused look on her face.*

*Quietly so only Red can hear.* I don't want you going near Nova.

*She tilts her head.* Why?

*Gives Red a stern look.* Because I said so, that's why.

*Her mom wasn't usually this strict with her, her ears drooped and she nodded her head.* Ok

*She gave Red a quick hug.* Good Girl. *She walked back Into the living room.* Unfortunately Felix we're having a Radroach problem that I'm still stomping out, so school is out for the next few days, but I do have quite a few books. *She walks over to a bookshelf sitting off to the side of the living room.* You can take as many as you like as long as you promise to bring them back.

*Puts a comforting hoof on Shayle, that seemingly takes some of the aching in her body away*

Felix's eyes grew wide and he almost jumped out of his hooves in excitement. "Really! You mean it?"



Unlike the other times Shayle had been touched by the ponies in New Hope, the hoof on her shoulder felt...different. The aching in her body deteriorated, and her nerves calmed back to normal, no longer frayed and holding her body in a useless trance. The zebra slowly lifted her head to look at the pony beside her, her violet eyes drifting between the hoof and the face it belonged to. "How did you..."

*thinks for a moment, then gets a thoughtful look* Oh! I know! *levitates a book out of saddlebags* How about Daring Do and The Legend of the Ruby Knight?

"I-it's okay," Shayle told her with a sniffle. "You just wanted to help."

*Starts softly running her hoof along Shayle's back in a massaging, reassuring way, her touch never losing its effect*
Well, don't worry, you'll be safe here, in New Hope.

*She nods her head and steps aside so he can get a look at all the books.*

*Steps out of the kitchen.* Mom, I might be out late tonight I've got a few things I got to take care of at the shop.

*She looks at Red.* Remember what I said ok?

Even after the day of stressful meetings with new ponies and the other citizens of New Hope, and despite the last few minutes being some of the worst that Shayle had experienced in a while, the zebra actually did believe what Crys told her as the soothing hoof ran up and down her striped back.

Sakura had been right, her mother was definitely a healer, she must be if she'd gotten Shayle out of the freakout she'd experienced. The zebra wasn't entirely sure this one experience would calm her when others tried touching her more than she wanted, or if it would heal her scarred past, but it had helped her somewhere deep down, giving her hope that maybe this town could provide her and her brother with a better life.

Moody continues to work on the leather barding, reinforcing it and patching it up. When he finishes it looks nearly new other then some patches being different colors. He places it down and looks over to Buckler.

"I'm sorry, just go side tracked by everything. I can work on your guns now."

Right. *hands rifle and shotgun to Moody* Just trying out some new things, like I said. Got some parts that happened to arrive through traders at the tower, just wanted to see how they felt.

((It was a shotgun and a rifle he had, right? I don't remember...))

Moody looks over the weapons and trots over to grab some cleaning supplies.
"I can tell you've been doing your best but a bit more TLC is needed. A bit more oil and wiping them down will do."

((You come up with something. I can't really think of anything that sounds special or awesome right now.))

As Moody finishes up clean the weapons, he looks over the parts Buckler had gathered.
"Hmmm... can't say I can use all these parts, but you have some goods ones here. This action will actually allow you to fire your rifle faster and more reliably. And you actually have the right combination to decrease the spread of your shotgun and increase it range as well."

He looks over the parts again.
"You did make sure you got parts specifiably for these guns right? And not just whatever you could find?"

*looks aside and paws hoof at ground* Well...I kinda got a little excited when it all came in, so I just decided to grab what I could that looked related to what I had...

Moody nods.
"Well.. you do have a good eye, but some of these are for other guns."

He points to one part, which Moodstone levitates up.

"Thats a.. laser rifle focus lens right?"

"Eeyup. There's also a silencer for a pistol too. But for the most part you did get some correct parts. Even better sights for your guns."

With that he starts putting the guns back together, new parts included.

((Whelp, just finished Bioshock as the Little Sisters' Savior. Honestly though, for a game that claims to have "Tough Moral Choices", I found it to be severely lacking in said choices. About the only one you get is whether to kill a little sister or save her.))

((I don't think I ever did a run of bioshock where I harvested the little sisters, couldn't bring myself to do it.))

*looks at floating laser focus* Eh heh heh...oops...*listens to Moody explain parts* I'm glad I got the sights right, at least. Those'll come in handy.

((I did, I found it odd that the body language and facial expressions of the little sisters implied they'd prefer to be harvested over being saved. At least that what I remember I haven't played bioshock in years. Also the first run through I thought there were more endings so I tried to take the middle ground harvesting every other little sister.))

((The evil one. By the way did anyone else hate that final boss? He's like a shining golden god and he just didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the game.))
