((It's got more to do with trying to leave than actually anything in the facility. Well, half the deaths were in the facility, but it's trying to leave that causes the brain damage that vegetated or caused suicide in the other half. It will be explained. Right now, chalked it up to Terra having some sort of reaction to something in the facility.))
