I remember that part. Lol. But I already knew what inertia was beforehand, and frankly, I don't see who couldn't in this day and age.

Hello Waffle, and to the others joining up.
Oh man... as a kid I used to freakin love Bill Nye... I'd watch it every day after school, I'd even commandeer the TV when I was over at friends' houses so I could watch it. They never showed it in class though...
But then he was an asshole to Rodney McKay... and well... okay it was still pretty funny, but I like McKay better.

He also used to host Battle Bots... and I have to say, that was possibly the most awkward thing to watch ever, heh.

Derpmind wrote:About chapter six: When I read it, it was as emotionally impacting for me as it seems to have been for most everyone else.
Well... I've always had problems with becoming too emotionally involved in fictional characters, I also have problems dealing with the trauma (surprising, I know)...
As I've said before, it's not that Somber has "ruined" the song for me, far from it. He's given the song a wonderful depth of feeling.
Of course, even more than that song, if anything haunts me from PH, it's from Chapter 14, never finding out what Buttercup's final words were.

Hmm don't know if I should be happy or scared, seeing as I stole SilentCarto's place as oldest fan, at least among those that listed a birthday. [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion - Page 27 2113965524

Will now crawl back in the shadows and wait patiently for 44 to post. :3

On a side note I wonder how well an anthropomorphic pony showing up in Equestria would work out?? [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion - Page 27 702243357

So much yes.

Moodyman90 wrote:I had no real problem with the whole story being told in memory orbs. That does bring up the question of how long does it take to make them as oposse to the minutes to hours it takes to watch them.
Well, it wasn't memory orbs exactly. It was part of the broken communications system in the SPP hub, IIRC, with which she recorded a few months worth of story in a few hours so that her side of things would get out there eventually if she never managed to talk to anypony again.

Derpmind wrote:... I'm not sure how healthy it is to be able to read through all that and not feel anything, but I personally don't think it's ok to let one's self keep the emotional wounds open when you have the ability to close it.
I'm generally a cold bastard; no story (book, movie, or IRL) had managed to drive me to tears for literally years before I started on this one. Somber managed in the space of six chapters, and it's only gotten more intense since. So it might not be particularly healthy to let myself hurt like that when the song triggers memories, but it's the kind of hurt that serves as a reminder that I can still feel, so I welcome it.

That said, in order to get through some of the darker moments I've needed to intentionally cut myself off and go into objective mechanical mode, because it's impossible to keep reading otherwise...

Ki-Tarn wrote:On a side note I wonder how well an anthropomorphic pony showing up in Equestria would work out?? [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion - Page 27 702243357
Hrm. On one hoof, minotaurs and diamond dogs demonstrate that anthropomorphic animals are not unknown, though no pony-types have been seen. Ponies in general seem to be pretty racist (enslavement of sheep and cows, Zecora's early treatment, etc.), with the Bearers of the Elements as notable exceptions (except maybe Rarity)... I think the response would be largely dependent on who you met first. One thing's certain: Lyra would never let go of your fingers.

Hey all! I just migrated here from EqD since PH is my favourite fic. I'm probably not going to post much but I'll lurk a little bit.

Since the layout of cloudsville uses far too much space (huge profile pictures etc.) I created a custom CSS stylesheet that cleans up a lot of things (and also fixes Nightmare Moon's "floating ponies") For example, posts with only one line take up only half the space, quotes use less space etc.
You can also choose if you want to have the profile pictures displayed on the left or on the right side of the post.
You can find it here
Try it, maybe it's useful for some of you!

Update on 44:
Hey, it just occurred to me: 44. Maybe the superstition of the number 4 is doing something here. Anyway, we are beginning to joke that the chapter is indeed cursed. Good news: all of the chapter that has so far been made available to us, including that difficult scene, has been brushed. Bad news: Somber has to go to a family gathering and won't have much more time today, and Bronode is now likely busy tomorrow and almost certainly busy Tuesday. So we are now looking at Wednesday as the probably day of release, unless we get lucky. Considering that this chapter has literally dodged explosions, though, I don't think that it's too very bad. Still, though, sorry.
