Of course, I found their breakdown of the "INTJ" personality to actually be a fair assessment of me--though it mentioned "Struggling with this" and "not working well with others" that. I don't struggle with working well with others. I do it just fine. I just fucking hate it. The profile seems to assume a lack of self-control from just about every personality type--though I'm not surprised, considering I see a lack of self-control from just about every person.

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
I've been checking my college's online whatsit at roughly half-hour intervals for the past three hours or so. This is because I planned my day, and to some extent my week, around working on one of two homework assignments today; I thought it likely that both would be up when my alarm went off, and the probability of neither of them being up seemed so small that I didn't bother planning around it much. As you may have gathered from the fact that I've spent this time checking the whatsit while playing Minecraft and rewatching educational videos instead of, say, working on the homework (or sleeping, or doing some more involved recreational activity), the homework assignments have not yet, in fact, been posted. [grumbles]
edit: And they're still not up. Bah. Well, I only have an hour and a half of work time (out of a scheduled five hours, though I'd have started about twenty minutes late today due to some things coming up) left; I think I'll just declare it free. Hopefully the due dates of the assignments will be similarly delayed.

Have you emailed the professors or a TA to request the homework? Teachers love it when students want to get a jump on the homework, or they didn't realize it hadn't been posted. If you have and they haven't responded then keep pinging them at set intervals. If you've been doing all that, then all I can say is hope everything works out for you.O. @Meyers-Briggs test:
The idea of lumping and categorizing everyone into 16 types is obviously not the most accurate way to do things, especially if people sit on the fence.
I used to be INTJ, I'm now INFP. There is less than a 10% preference for either F or P.
But that isn't to say I haven't changed since I last took one. I've been more intensely emotional in every way since my favorite dog died in June, and it made a distinct impact on how I think of things such as death and affection.
I do see how the analysis applies to my personality, and I suspect it's a similar phenomenon to horoscopes; it's easy to see a horoscope and see how it applies to you, but so could every other sign's horoscope.

From what I understand, the reasoning the test's creators put behind that is the idea that there are no such people; those that seem that way have their positive qualities suppressed or misused. I'm sure there is little positivity to be found in some types of psychopaths; for example, a murderer who is brutally efficient.Mister Frost wrote:The main flaw I'm noticing with the test (especially evident when you view the types index) is that they seem to be able to pinpoint the strengths and positives in every type, but they don't account for or have a type for people that are just objectively horrible people with no redeeming qualities.

I might have done that if they'd actually said that the homework would be posted today, but as it is, I'm just going off past performance and educated guesses. For instance, the previous homework in one of the classes was assigned the morning of the day the one before that was due and is due today; we've also already covered about one homework assignment's worth of material, at least, since we started material not on the assignment due today. The other homework assignment I was told yesterday would be up "soon". Given that, I thought that, while quite possibly only one of them would be up, at least one of them would be up.

Well, if your grades suffer because the teachers weren't posting the homework when they said they would I'd consider taking it to administration if it keeps going on for a long period of time.O. Oh, I doubt that my grades will suffer. It's mostly an annoyance.
Anyway, part of one of the assignments is up now. The first two problems don't look that bad. The third one, which is probably the last one, isn't finished yet.
No word on the other assignment yet, but it's for the class I'll be leaving for in about an hour.

Good luck with the rest of the week.

But they're nice trimmings. The armor plating is new in design and the pattern is quite nice. Compared to the guys we've had for the last two games, it's a nice breath of relatively fresh air. It reminds me a lot of when I first saw Ezio and thought "holy shit, this guy's design is better than Altair's in every possible way."swicked wrote:...well, it's really just the same generic assassin design with different trimming.Scienza wrote:Also, I like the character design of the Chinese assassin.
Also, I'm a sucker for leather-ish armor. I just get more of a rogue vibe from it and it looks cool as hell.
Would just be a really powerful slingshot that shoots axe blades? Or what if it's just a spring-loaded guillotine that the player just runs at people, because that would so fucking entertaining.Tytan wrote:I honestly don't know.

I looked up guillotine gun. All I found were those things you use to cut cigars, and a cage thingy you throw at people and it takes their head.

I really want it to be something ridiculous and over-the-top. Or have a mini guillotine be an attachment for the hidden blade.

I, too, like the new character design, even if it suffers from the same Assassin's Creed series problem of the supposedly stealthy outfit pretty much screaming look at me, I'm a goddamn Assassin.
As for the Guillotine, clearly the only way they can go is for the gun to be a mechanism by which Headsman's Axes are launched hundreds of meters in a neck-seeking trajectory.

That never gets old
At least with that armor, she at least has some explanation for why she has like ninety goddamn weapons strapped to her body. She could be a mercenary or something. As opposed to, say, Altair, who was a "monk" with a quiver of arrows, a bandolier of throwing daggers, a sword, steel gauntlets, etc. Also, finally, sensibly colored armor. It's still got the bright red bits, but at least it's not blindingly white with bright red bits.

A mercenary woman in Ancient China carries its own set of issues, but considering how cool (and Rogue-y, as you mentioned) the armor is, I'm willing to give it a pass.Scienza wrote:I spent hours doing this. I actually wonder if that'll factor into the story at all; men expecting her to be a subservient little flower and whatnot.

So apparently bending is a problem with the new iPhone or at least the larger variant.
Kind of expected in hindsight with the aluminum case and how thin it is. I wonder what Apple's response will be.

Screw 'aluminum case'. Who cares? If board can't bend, then it doesn't matter how case can bend. Even slight bend of board can cause micro cracks, which would affect system greatly.
Ofc, if case would be un-bendable (to some point), then board would be safe inside.

Maybe if the iphone was .00009 microns bigger thicker this would not be an issue and maybe we could start getting 24 hour battery life from our phones the thing everyone frigging wants.
I love my Nexus 5 size but I will not buy another phone until I can get double the battery life this thing has.

Currently reading "The Wise Man's Fear," having finished "The Name of the Wind" a day or two ago. I could go on and on about how beautiful the writing is, how ambitious the narrative is, and how clever the storytelling is, but ultimately, I think the most telling part is that I've currently put it down because I realized I'm over halfway done and hate the idea of being finished. That's not something I do with most stories.
I can't for the life of me pin down the genre. Something not between low and high fantasy, but rather taking from both in turn.

I absolutely love those books. Usually, an interlude-heavy, In Media Res-style story like that comes off as overplayed and somewhat clumsy, but it's handled perfectly. Plus, the worldbuilding is actually unique--I can't think of another fantasy world that's even anything like it.Overlong Analysis Cobalt wrote:Currently reading "The Wise Man's Fear," having finished "The Name of the Wind" a day or two ago. My only complaint, really, is with the Adem--they're inarguably right, even when they're factually wrong, and they're super-great fighters without equal--one would think there's a nation or clan out there that at least rivals them, but it's yet to be seen. Overall, they struck me as something that was trying really, really hard to be an ideal and interesting society and fell just short of the mark.
