So I just watched a video about unscripted movie scenes.

Was surprised to learn:

- In Aliens the line "Game Over Man" was improvised on the spot.
- In Full Metal Jacket, R. Lee Ermey came up with 90% of his dialogue on the spot.
- In The Dark Knight, when the hospital suddenly stopped exploding, Heath Ledger improvised the Joker's reaction.
- Dumb and Dumber's "most annoying sound in the world scene" was never in the script.
- Hannibal Lector's hiss in Silence of the Lambs was made up on the spot.
- "You're gonna need a bigger boat" from Jaws wasn't in the script.
- "Here's Johnny" wasn't in the script for The Shining.

Gotta love actors sometimes

Yeah, I believe R. Lee. Ermey has the honor of being they only actor, or at least one of a very small group, that Stanley Kubrick actually allowed to improvise anything. Kubrick was known as a major control freak and NOTHING happened on set without his permission or direction.

I believe his audition was a tape of him screaming at some marine when he was an instructor.
