I hope I'm not too out of line in the Discussion Thread, but it honestly seems like we haven't had any kind of productive discussion in there since the last chapter went up. Just the same points over and over again with nobody backing down on their side.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying, Negative towards you or the story? Because negative criticism is important for improving.

Well it's not all negative, but it's just been back and forth since that last chapter. As been pointed out it's the closest thing to a flame war we've had, which is a good thing, but at the same time I just feel like it's dragged on too long.

And I hated to name-check Snipehamster, but according to him he was in the minority of opinions on the editing team on ideas during the last chapter and a few of his post have been "I would have written PH like this" which erks me for some reason. I have nothing but respect for him and the others on the brushing team, but it seems (at least to me and hopefully I'm wrong) he's using the current division of opinions of the last chapter as an excuse to rant about what he doesn't like about PH.

Well he has worked on PH for a very long time. If I were him I'd probably want to vent too. Look if he has something he doesn't like about a chapter he can bring it up to him but at the end of the day it's Somber's decision whether or not to change it.

Now, if Somber decides not to change it he's still got to work on it even if he doesn't like it.

And I imagine he's more attached to the story then we are.

I'm not saying I agree, but I do understand if he wants to vent.

Not to mention only certain Stables got transmitters in their pipbucks at all (I think only the Canterlot one did)

It's mostly been about the Legate the past few days, nearly everything else about the chapter falling to the wayside. And as for him it's been people pointing out the problem they have with him and others trying to justify the who, whats, and whys until it repeats itself.

Sprinkle in bits of how Somber is breaking Kkat's canon countered with "those elements where left unexplained and ready to be filled in by others."

I made a request for everything in discussion right not to be dropped and everybody to wait and see what happens next in story but I doubt anybody will acknowledged it.

That's what the science check was for. Although he does not really know if Quiver can respond.
