He blushes slightly. Unfortunately, with a black coat a slight blush shows up a little more than he would like. "Ven I heard about zeh job offer, and zat my friends vere all going, I just vanted to make sure zat zey vould be safe. Seven years of military experience makes vun protective of ozers." Her other statement finally registers. "...Vhy vould I not come back? It vould not be very gentlecoltly for a stallion to leave a lady vaiting around, now vould it?"

The mare blushed a little and smile. "That's very sweet of you." She fluttered over and lightly hugged him. "And I understand. I didn't expect you to let your friends go out without you just to see me."

"Yeah, I've got a few rifles for ya, sadly no special ammo though. Only got special pistol and shotgun rounds."

He returns the hug but only very lightly, making sure that he does not accidentally hurt her. "I admit, it vas a tough decision...I vas afraid you vould be mad at me..." he says, turning his head away.

"They're in pretty bad shape, sorry about that," she smiled shyly as she placed the books on the counter. "We can hang out in here, or we can go in the back room, it doesn't really matter to me."

He brings her into a hug with one of his hooves. "In Germaneigh, zeh sky is usually not very cloudy, but normally ve cannot see zeh sky eizer. At least zat is zeh case for zeh soldiers, because of all of zeh lights and activity." he explains to her. "However, sometimes, once in a vhile, I have caught a glance at zeh stars and zeh sky...I could tell you about it, if you vish." he says with a small smile.

"Imagine zeh sky as a void, an expanse so vast it seems endless, zeh darkest of blues vith a hint of dark purple ven it is cloudy." He smiles warmly at the fond memories of his home, and at just being with the mare. "On a clear night vith no lights, however, it is a completely different sight. Pitch black and dotted vith tiny lights zat are mostly vite."

"I have seen prettier zings." he says, looking into her eyes with a smile. "Zose are not zeh only zings up zere, however. Occasionally vun can see streaks of light hurtling across zeh sky, as if some powerful force had cast zem out from a far avay place. Sometimes zeh moon even has a bright ring of color surrounding it. Zeh most awe-inspiring zing I have seen during zeh night is a massive star off in some distant corner of zeh sky, burning a dull red-brown. It made me feel like somevun vas vatching over us as ve vere serving our country."
