Shadow makes his way back to his room at the Inn. When he enters he sees Cherry has fallen asleep, and he starts to clean the room. He then takes off his gear and lays down next to her, quickly falling asleep.

Carefully sneak ups on orange pegasi . Novae saw him back in Fiddler's Hoof and from what she get, he might stick around for a while...but main point of interest wasn't actually pegasi, but more state-of-art-computer on his foreleg.
Suddenly from behind. "Hi! Whatcha doing?" Grin.

Quiver swiftly turns around to face the zebra. His expression swiftly turns from one of curiosity to one of confusion.
"Erm... I was examining my PipBuck's automaps."
He gestures to his PipBuck.
"You seem... happy. What's your name?"

[Katarn]

"Oooooooh. Pipbuck..always wanted to lay my hooves on one of those." Shakes her head, snapping back from her dreams. "Oh, right. My name is Novae. Pleased to meet ya. What's yours? You are from Stable? Do you have spare Pipbuck? Want some?" Offers sugar apples.

His confused expression remains and intensifies after her mentioning of his PipBuck.
"Um, hello Novae. I'm Quiver. Yes, I'm from a Stable, and no, I don't have a spare PipBuck, unfortunately. No thanks."
He says with a smile.
"If you don't mind me asking, but are there a lot of zebras in Equestria now?"

Buries her muzzle in box, but stops immediately, when Quiver's question. She puts box back in her bag. "From what I know, no. Isolated settlements, sometimes on outskirts of some towns. Some even allowed to live as equal. Depends on community. Some 'live' as slaves." Novae makes 'air quotes' with hooves.

"I wouldn't expect most ponies to welcome zebras in Equestria, what with the war and all. That was many years ago, but from what I see, the zebras did quite a number on Equestria with their weapons. I say ponies and zebras should work together, we're all in on this mess our ancestors created. Nopony and nozebra should be a slave, either."
His expression sours.

[Katarn]

"Well....that's nice of you. But won't work. Look around. Towns like this are rare occasion of safe places. Outside there are ponies who kill, torture, maim, rape and much more not for something, but just because they can. I understand when it's about survival, money...but not 'just for fun'. To change this there must some miracle happen, like 'someone'." Air quotes again. "Open cloud layer just out of goodness of their hearts. Sun is beautiful, by the way. I saw it first time...hm...maybe when I was 14."

"I've been told that everyone working together isn't going to happen before. One can hope, at least. Those evildoers out there can't last forever. I figure they'll die out eventually. The pegasi don't seem to be too keen on opening the clouds, for some reason."
He pauses.
"I've always wondered what Celestia's sun looked like."

[Katarn]

"Bright, warm, eyes hurts. Pro tip, don't look straight at it for 2 hours." Rubs her eyes, as she remembers the feel. "You know...your kin can be as tolerated as mine. I mean, zebras fought agains Equestria, okay. War, enemies, all that. Pegasi just abandoned everyone here. So...just watch out." Wink. "Somepony might pluck your feathers for just having them."

"But we off-topic now. Having problems with auto-map?"

[Ketchup]

"I'm not too worried about that happening, there aren't any Stables in the clouds."
He chuckles softly.
"To answer your question, no, there's no trouble with the autiomap. I was comparing it to one I drew. What makes you so interested in my PipBuck, anyway?"

"Because it's almostindestructiblewithbigamountoffunctionsbuilt-inhackingsoftwareandportsfordatatransferringIlikeyourmanecanbeprogrammedtodoalmostanythingsomehavestylishdesign. And that's not all. But....I don't think you're really interested in me talking about it."

"...Ookaay then. I'm guessing you have a fascination with such devices?"

Happily nods. "I've read a lot about them and other technological stuff. Give me time and right parts, I'll make robot for you...not AI, but CPU from Pipbuck should handle some operations, including friend-foe targeting..though it's still mystery for me how it determinates if someone, who you even didn't meet yet is hostile or friendly. Well some are obviously hostile, but still..it's mystery for me."

"I think I'll keep my PipBuck intact, thank you. Besides, I can't really take it off on a whim, one needs special tools to get it off. I do agree, the EFS is a very interesting spell. So is SATS."

[Katarn]

Pulls her multi-tool and shows it to Quiver, then places it back in bag. "Special tools, you say?" Grin. " One can't call himself technician and don't have right tools. But don't worry, I won't take it of from you."
Moves closer, leans to him and half-whispers. "But if you die, can I have it?"

Quiver looks surprised.
"Er... uh... I don't plan on dying, but if I do, I guess so?"

[Katarn]

"Oh, you're such gentlecolt." Brushes Quiver's mane. "Though you're right, try not to die and stay away from trouble. Or at least stay alive and crawl back to some doctor. They can do amazing things for few caps."

[Ketchup]

Quiver puts on a bemused smile.
"You're kinda strange, if you don't mind me saying so."

[Katarn]

"Strange, weird, crazy. That's how folks, mostly, describes me. I don't mind though. Never inhale deadly chemicals, they can kill you or in best case just damage your brain...well if you have to inhale them, do it little-by-little or you surely die."

[Ketchup]

Quiver smiles.
"I'll keep that in mind and limit my exposure. There are a lot of ways to kill a pony, or a zebra, in the wasteland."

[Katarn]

"Starvation, been shot, exploded, melted, dehydration, fall from high, impaled, eaten alive, drowned..yup. There are many ways to die."

[Ketchup]

Quiver nods.
"So what brings you to this region? Everyone seems to have a story about that."

[Katarn]

"I travel with my dad, after one incident. Fix stuff for him. He work as mercenary, bounty hunter. Bodyguard, sometimes, but it's on rare occasion. I fix stuff for him and supply him with--" Grenade falls off from her mane. Awkward pause."--explosives. Don't worry, it's dummy...or not..I don't remember. You see, main point here is that safety pin on it's place." Puts grenade back in her mane. "Doesn't help to bypass good guards with this, they usually check everywhere, but some dumb bandits or raiders can be easily fooled..or torn into pieces." Smiles.

"I can see how that skill might come in handy as long as you are careful. You certainly are a perplexing mare. Who's your father?"

[Katarn]

"Oh, you might saw him. He's big, griffon, walked around in bandages recently. He don't really like when I call him dad, he asks to call him Jayne, but I like former more."

[Ketchup]

Quiver looks confused.
"A griffon? I presume he's your adoptive father then?"

"Oh, you are smart. Yup. He won me in card game."
