I don't know about you all, but I love the new gameplay. You actually feel like a super soldier with humanity's best tech at your disposal now, not just a slightly more resilient soldier

I agree, I love the gameplay. It's only second to my love of the story, which is absolutely gorgeous in every way from beginning to end. Saw quite a few parallels with the story of Mass Effect, but that can be ignored for know assuming they are just coincidences. If not, I trust that 383 won't shit the bed on this one, they just did so amazing with this first game for a new trilogy.

I'm only about halfway through, but I'm really loving it so far. The weapons are awesome, too.

What's your loadout of choice? I roll with AR, Magnum and Hardlight shield

Depends on what I'm doing.
For multiplayer I usually go with a storm rifle, magnum and thrusters; sometimes a carbine, magnum and active camo.

Campaign I use whatever I find. Except on Legendary...in that it is a requirement that I have a plasma pistol and then anything else to do damage, preferably a BR, DMR, or Carbine.

Halo 4 managed to look amazing, despite using an aging platform.

For multiplayer, I'm a DMR person. Promethean vision with ammo and shielding specializations. I mostly use vehicles, usually the Ghost, or Banshee if I can.

For campaign, which I haven't played after I beat it the day I got it on Normal, I used the Light Rifle mostly, though when possible I grabbed a SAW and/or a DMR. I don't like the Light Rifle very much but UNSC weapons have too little ammo as per the design of the game to make you use the Promethean ones.

Downer ending, but it was a good extension to the story as a whole.

In Campaign, I mostly stuck to a Suppressor/ Scattershot combo, and got a Hardlight Shield as often as I could.

Multiplayer, I'm quite a fan of the faster reloads perk

So, who's in for making an official Cloudsville Halo 4 multiplayer team?

Also, My favorite combination, although not a starting loadout, is a DMR, A Rail Gun, Jetpack, Mobility, and Extra Ammo. With this setup, I'm able to quickly move around the map delivering precise headshots to unshielded oponents at medium to long range and devastating railgun bolts to elite, shielded fighters, all while not having to go hunting for ammo as often.

On the note of the Railgun, I have to say that it is IMO the best new weapon introduced into the game. It's powerful enough to one-shot shielded opponents with a direct hit, you can get ammo for it from an ammo crate, and it has a decent RoF. While at the same time, it's balanced out by the lack of a scope, needing to be charged before firing, low ammo capacity, and general ineffectiveness against vehicles. Basically, they created the perfect weapon to take out Knights and Elites.
TL:DR - Rail Guns ROCK!

Also, yes, what happened at the end of the campaign was sad, but I like to look at it as not an end but a new beginning. Plus, with Spartan Ops, the story for this game isn't even close to being finished.

I'm not having too many problems with legendary. The covenant aren't quite as strong and relentless as they were in halo 2 but those fucking knights... Every single time I see one I have the exact same reaction. "Another one!?"

Turns out that the forerunners wiped out the precursors... when the flood overcame the forerunners there was only one precursor left and it vanished...

No, what makes it annoying is that they have no recharge on the warp and can do it as many times as they want as often as they want.

I don't really have a problem with the Knights, they're not so bad once you get use to them. The enemy that really pisses me off are the watchers, especially when they swarm in. Let me list the reasons why:
1) They can spawn turrets and crawlers.
2) They can revive Knights
3) They run and hide after you shoot them so they can recharge their shields.
4) They generate shields for their allies.
5) They can revive Knights!
6) They're armed with a weapon similar to the suppressor.
7) They can revive Knights!!!
8) They can throw your grenades right back at you.
Oh, and did I mention that THEY CAN REVIVE THOSE MOTHER$%t^& KNIGHTS!!!!! Roid Rage
...
Yea, I really hate the watchers. Is there some sort of trick to killing them quickly without a shotgun or a power weapon?

Well one trick I like to do is kill them while they are trying to revive a knight (they don't run while they do that, so they're sitting ducks.)
I also shoot at them when they deploy a shield for their allies. (It takes them a while to retract the shield and fly off.)

So yeah, they aren't so bad as long as you have a pretty good medium to long ranged weapon.

I'm actually quite proficient with the DMR, but it still takes at least 4 solid shots on the thing to make it blow up and by the third shot there's a good chance they found a pillar to hide behind, not even mentioning the fact that I try to take them out first which means there's probably 20 other Prometheans bearing down on me at the same time.

I wonder, has anyone ever tried hitting one with an overcharged plasma pistol bolt? I know in the previous games an Overcharged plasma pistol would destroy a sentry with one shot and the watchers act a lot like sentries do. Heck, they even have similar names.

So I'm a little bit confused:

In Halo 4 we learn forerunners are their own species however

So my question is: Is there a reason he says this?

I guess Guilty Spark could just be crazy or maybe the librarian did something to him, but I'd like know what you guys think.
