The warmth.
The excitement.
The joy.
It all came back with that kiss, everything Felix had wanted so badly since that kiss years before, from the colt he had been waiting for. He leaned into the kiss, happily returning it as he was overcome with everything he'd wanted for so long. But through the joy peeked that one little spark of doubt, reminding him of his worry from earlier. Felix knew what he wanted, he wanted Neon, and everything he could give, but he still didn't know what Neon truly wanted from him.

He could just break off the kiss and explain his worry to Neon. He would understand right? Neon was a great guy, and had always been nice and caring to Felix, he wouldn't leave forever just because the zebra was worried...right?

But if he did...if Felix came off as crazy or possessive...obsessive even?

No, he didn't want to risk it, this was his chance to finally be with Neon. Whatever logic had compelled him to keep away from the pegasus earlier in the day had abandoned him, his thoughts completely consumed by the kiss, and finally experiencing it all again.

Ignoring any doubt or worry, Felix hooked his hooves over Neon's shoulders, pulling him backwards onto the bed with him. He may not be able to take it as far as his dream did with Shayle in the same building, not even close, but he could still enjoy the pony's company for a while before getting to sleep, and hopefully, Neon would enjoy it too.

((I once theorized that exposure to low level magical background radiation like what the Heroes in FOE fics face combined with specific genes may effect their brain chemistry in such a way which made them prefer companionship with the same gender over the same relationship with the opposite gender.

Then again, maybe it's just a hero thing.))

This was it. All the misery and sadness of the day just melted away. He knew who he wanted to be with. He'd known since that first kiss, but he hadn't recognized it at the time.

Maybe he was an idiot (and he was pretty sure he was) but he could have sworn he was in love. That feeling of being around Felix, the dreams, everything about the striped pony set off alarms in his head.

He had never considered himself a colt-cuddler, never looked at other stallions that way, but something about Felix was changing him, for the better.

As he's pulled into the bed, he knows that they can't go far. His sister isn't far, and worse, Nova was probably watching them right now

But he'd always wanted to try that thing called 'spooning'.

He breaks the kiss for a moment, to bury his face into Felix's neck as he holds the zebra close to him, "... thank you..." he whispers.
