I like how you drew Carrion, it reminds me of Disney for some reason. Probably the beak style or something.

Oh, oh! I didn't even notice the pieces on my first look. :D
So I guess this is in the future (no telling how far into the future, given that we're dealing with a robot and a ghoul) when a chess set based on the events of (at least) PH and FoE has been made?

And yeah, pretty much something like that. I had wanted to do full sets based on LittlePip and Blackjack's parties, but it had already taken 3.5 hours, and I was really running out of steam. There certainly could be other sets, if I ever get around to reading other stories, heh.

Thank you, OAC. It was tough, since no one else had drawn him yet. Her? I don't remember for the life of me what gender Carrion is... In the stream I kept saying their gender was just "griffon". Anyways, ghouls and I don't get along very well anyways, so I just tried my best, and I'm glad you like it.

By the way, Hinds, that should probably be, "Who, Carrion?" Not a critical correction, though.

Huehuehue @ the last one (others are funny, too). If I'd known this story would stick in the metaphorical craw of TVTropism this badly when I first contemplated reading it, I would have hopped on the bandwagon a lot sooner, let me tell you. Gotta love a story that gives you a zebra from its hoofbeats - presents the outermost symptoms of Sue-ness, earning the ire of the less-than-attentive amateurs everywhere. It's like how people with actual coding know-how scoff at movie hackers "hacking the mainframe" and whatnot, I think. 10 seconds of random keyboard spam of green text on a black screen, and presto! - you're into DARPA! :D

There's a saying that goes something like, "When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras." Or, alternatively, "Where there's smoke, there's a fire." The former is sounder metaphorical advice than the latter, of course, but the idea I was trying to put forth with "gives you a zebra from its hoofbeats" was that the story shows a sign of one thing (hoofbeats, cybernetic black and white "alicorn" OC protagonist) without actually being what usually presents the sign (horses, a Mary Sue author insert fanfic).

Ah, I see; I'd never heard that saying before. Why should one think either "horses" or "zebras", though? All the sound of hoofbeats indicates is that there are probably hooves producing the sound.
