Re: What are you listening to?
Cult of Luna - Mute Departure. This is a fantastic song. Very electronic, but still as doom-y and sludge-y and atmospheric as you could hope for. EDIT: Re-listening AGAIN. It reminds me SO MUCH of a Mass Effect song that is also a post-metal song.
Also been listening to more Bob Dylan (Freewheelin') but I can't find any YouTube links to non-cover or non-live versions. Apparently, every hipster with an acoustic guitar uploads bad covers of songs off this album and fails to label them as covers. :\
That Radiarc song was pretty nice, Orange! Normally I'm not a huge fan of synthesized orchestral stuff (or drum machines being used to emulate human drumming, if that makes sense), but this was a pleasant listen and a well-crafted song.

Pretty, I like it. Reminds me of (and I hope this isn't a violation of electronic music politesse, like saying "Oh that song sounds like Dimmu Borgir!" to a black metal fan) Aphex Twin, sort of (his normal songs, not the couple creepy ones).RoboRed wrote:A little Netsky with a message.

Why do I suspect that song was written around 2004 ?

Well, apparently, it's more around 2008-ish

I don't see the point in lyrics if they're going to be used in a way that someone listening to your music can't understand them.

Re: What are you listening to?
If you're used to listening to that sort of music, it's quite easy to understand. I posted a lyric video for y'all's benefit

Re: What are you listening to?
Psh, Lamb of God ain't hard to understand. Anaal Nathrakh is hard to understand. Although this one's actually pretty comprehensible, come to think of it, compared to their early stuff. The "Total Fucking Necro" demo was insane.
Anyway, the point of this style of singing is the percussive content of the vocals and the atmosphere. Oftentimes with the more extreme bands, the lyrics aren't even printed; they exist more to put the singer in the correct mindset than to be 100% comprehensible. Though you do generally get better at understanding them with time.

I listen to it over and over, but yeah, it'd be great if it were a bit longer. I find it very calming.RoboRed wrote:That's a favorite of mine. I just wish it wasn't so short. It really feels like it could be extended.Ketchup wrote:

Most of the FO:E pieces I used to listen to are pretty much phased out by Radiarc ones and little things I stumble on.
Like this, which I enjoy for some reason.

Awesome song. Though the voices don't match the characters they are still amazing on their own.
