Granted it's been a few years since I watched the first movie, and the second was really meta about the rules, but I think it's that "You don't feed the Mogwai after midnight in the time zone you're in." But then you get into do they operate on daylight savings time....
Just keep the one nice Mogwai, don't get it wet, feed it only during daylight, and if something cause it to make more, quickly dispose of the offspring. How's that?

But if you have a mogwai and don't cause chaos with it, then what's the point of owning one?

I've always wondered at what point is it okay to feed them again? I mean, the whole day is technically after midnight. At what point does it obsolete? Sunrise?
Edit: Because if you can feed them before midnight, but it's still dark...

Depends on what you do with them. Turning them into gremlins is boring. Hand them out in the mogwai stage without the instructions however.jacky2734 wrote:

Thank you, sir. Well... I guess it's something about me I just have trouble drawing anything but cute, despite my efforts to improve, so I just try my best to make things cuter instead.jacky2734 wrote:Excellent as usual, love Psychiatrist Rampage, how do you make your pictures so adorable, and...
Wait, is Blackjack in a straitjacket?
And yes, Blackjack is in a straitjacket, because that's how I saw it in my head, instead of actually drawing the "mobile restraint harness" as it was described. *sighs*
Ah, I can understand that. I'd had the idea before you posted your review, and I thought it might be close enough, sorry.RoboRed wrote:Not really too disappointed. I just love Twilight far too much.

@location of reviews
I would be in favor of keeping them all here. Maybe if you want to keep the walls of text a little less obtrusive, we could put them behind a spoiler tag, for ease of scrolling?
I had actually wanted to test this for myself already, so let's give it a try. Something like this, maybe:
Chapter 43
- "Commentary":
Chapter 43 part 1:
42 was one of the best chapters of Project Horizons so far; and then 43 was
even better. I know that the "wake up in an asylum that wants you to
believe nothing before was real" situation is a fairly common scenario,
but you handled it really well, the best of any time I've seen it.
You should be proud of this chapter, Somber, and I'm so very happy Mint
convinced you not to get rid of it.
This opening scene was a little disarming, with just enough similarity to her
typical nightmares about 99 (though reading it again, the difference is very
clear, which I really should have seen) that nothing seems out of the ordinary
- it makes for a pretty effective switch to the asylum.
The familiarity Blackjack has for the asylum is another powerful point - your
descriptions in general work particularly well in this chapter.
I don't know what it is, but Harpica calling her "Miss Fish" in
itself is frightening.
The tones, the way Blackjack is handled, and her attitude is incredibly worked.
If this chapter were turned into a full-length animated video I couldn't even
begin to tell you how many times I would watch it (oh how I wish this chapter
could be animated...)
I still feel bad for Caprice, even though it's all fake... she would actually
be right for working at an asylum...
Odd... I thought I remembered something more happening to Bluebelle after she
said, "Heard ya'll find this kinky..."
It may not have been real, but seeing Roses and Priest again still made me tear
up. I actually... I really don't think I'd mind this world sticking around...
there's just something about it that I can't put my finger on, but I don't want
to give it up...
The comparison of the Core to Black Pony Mountain is very interesting, as is
the small exposition on the Zebra and the description of the Hoofington area,
including the sky.
If Harpica really does have a crush on Rainbow Dash that's going to make for
quite the awkward meeting when the rest of Blackjack's party get back to
Chapel.
"Really? I'm glad to hear it's not Jetstream anymore," - This little
scene with the Marauders is quite tragic, especially knowing how badly each of
them has been hurt.
It's really something amazing, Somber - just 7 Chapters ago, I would have
cheered at Trueblood/Sanguine receiving a horrific death. But now, Blackjack
analyzing everything in his office that she could potentially use to kill him
gives me chills.
"No relapses to 'The Wasteland'?" "Maybe I'd been captured by
the Harbingers and taken to some facility for... who knew what?" - Finally
addressing the situation and trying to figure it out, even at this point I
still wasn't sure where you'd decide to take the story. Trueblood actually does
a commendable job of selling the story.
The portion from "Go Fish didn't even have the courage to point him out in
a lineup" to the end of the scene is particularly powerful - Blackjack
struggling to believe her friends were real once again made me start crying.
The entire scene from "I didn't give in. Not right
away, at least." all the way to "I couldn't be anywhere." is
entirely perfect. My absolute favorite parts though would have to be staring at
the ceiling and imagining it was cracked, becoming Blackjack again for just a
moment - and the reaction to seeing her mother for the first time. I can't
praise this part of the chapter enough, sir.
The small scene of Blackjack murdering Scotch Tape was terrifying, I think most
in part because it seemed like it could have really happened. Taking Rampage's
talk about her own sleep deprivation before, the hints of a trauma by
Trueblood, and the small comment of "She'd been almost as tough to take
down as the real Rampage". It was really terrifying, perfectly done.
The tenderness of Blackjack finally getting to see her mother was incredible
too, especially with her mother's unexpected kindness and Blackjack's reaction,
it was very powerfully emotional.
"Suddenly, I was hit by an explosive pressure wave." - This
hallucination within the hallucination is very interesting, even if it's
slightly confusing.
I have to say though, when I read "late night visitor slinking in wearing
a black veil and fancy dress" - I got so hopeful that it was Lacunae...
"Everyone is important to someone." - I was doing okay with the
vision up until this line, then I started crying uncontrollably...
Again, after the vision Trueblood does a really good job of selling the
reality... he actually had me wondering if he was right.
"I might not know exactly who I was... Blackjack or Go Fish... but either
way, I'd been a security mare of some kind. And Security saves ponies." -
This, just this. The lead-up to Blackjack's encounter with the mare in black is
well executed tension, but these lines just make it (they also made me start
crying again).
The following scene with Jetstream receiving the secret mission and targeting
talisman from Garnet is another very interesting interjection. It may not make
sense now, but I'm certain it isn't just another part of the simulation...
The Dealer. Up until he showed up, I really had believed the Wasteland might be
a lie, he was the only thing that convinced me otherwise. Learning more about
the Dealer and seeing his genuine concern is really touching too.
"But I think you know better, Blackjack. You're not Go Fish. This isn't
your world." - Again, this whole scene, this whole chapter is so
incredible, but this line stands out as exceptional to me.
I didn't connect it the first time, but the Dealer's mention of the previous
two simulation attempts being Stable 99 and Chapel brings perfect light to
those two interjected scenes earlier in the chapter, which was a much-needed
touch.
"Even if it wasn't Octavia... even if it wasn't Mom... I still wanted
it." - Another thing, I don't recall having cried as much in recent
chapters as I had before, but this chapter, it brought me to tears so many
times, with things like this. Simply wonderful.
As well, Trueblood's "Please let us help you!" right before Blackjack
shatters the simulation.
A wonderful job at making the Happyhorn computer a sympathetic character,
Somber - even without them taking the shape of Blackjack's friends, all they
wanted to do was help her. It cost everything they had left, but they managed
to do it... I think that's incredibly emotionally powerful for a machine.
Chapter 43 part 2:
"Is this your personality... or are you acting like this because of
me?" "Yes." - There isn't much humor in this chapter (or at
least pure humor), but this little spot of it before Blackjack starts on the
quest deeper into her mind is really nice.
The pit that opens while the computer is trying to talk to Blackjack is, as the
node puts it, terrifying - but nonetheless a very impressive scene.
"No, Blackjack. We need to die." - I really doubt anyone else felt
this way, but rereading this section knowing the mare in black is Blackjack (in
this simulation at least), this line became a lot more significant to me. The
mare in black not just being her self-loathing, but more specifically her fear
of becoming the monster she easily could be. Even saying that out loud it does
make much sense to me, but I still felt the line was stronger looking back.
This first confrontation against the mare in black is simply incredible. The
flash of Blackjack and her friends suddenly in combat gear, Blackjack charging
forward showering the area with explosive shells, the taunting from her
subconscious, the thorns tearing her body apart until she was back to her
cybernetic self, and "I could never be that old Blackjack again."
Every single piece of that scene is beautifully crafted. I know I already said
last time I wish this chapter could somehow be fully animated, but this scene
warrants the reiteration of that wish.
"Welcome home, Blackjack." - A happy and prospering 99, what could
have been, only to be taken away. The scene with the thorns started me tearing
up, but 99 pushed me into full-on crying, especially Blackjack holding
Vigilance to her head after they managed to escape.
The scene of Blackjack apologizing to 99 and finally being able to let go, that
was incredibly powerful too.
"Even two previous interfaces by an outside system," "They would
resemble transparent images of the original recordings." - So that's what
Blackjack saw in HR... my first guess of who was showing them to her would be
Dealer, but since he was surprised that she knew the passcode to access
Discord, that seems to be ruled out. It doesn't seem like something the program
behind the Harbingers would make her see, so that leaves a definite mystery.
The scene with the Seahorse... Goddess save me... it hurts to read just as much
as 33 did, especially with the nodes saying "I'm glad you gave me one more
chance to help." and "Isn't this what you did for Scotch?"
The fight at the construction yard, and against the mare in
black are both of your typical quality fights. And then it gets to the second
half of the fight, where Blackjack tears off the mare's mask, the entire tirade
that ends with Blackjack's sudden realization of "You're trying to protect
me" - it made me start tearing up... and then crying again when she
realized she'd killed Boing (crying over it again now even).
And then crying even more as the node tried to comfort her... At least between
the computer and Dealer they actually were able to help her.
"I was founded two hundred and four years ago to help mentally hurt and emotionally
injured ponies. I have had two hundred and sixty eight patients. Do you know
how many I counted as successes? One. One pony who I think might have a chance
at a life and happiness. You." - Happyhorn did everything it could to help
Blackjack, and it cost everything it had left, but it helped her. It's
incredibly emotionally powerful.
A quick fight, and then Blackjack clinging to the unicorn and crying, I want to
say something about that, but I just can't think of the right thing.
Nails. I was trying to figure out who he was, but after everything that had
happened in the chapter I was in such shock that it took me until after he said
sorry to realize he'd been one of the ones from 33. And he actually took his
second chance and tried to do better...
Leaving the piece of mane in a bow with Happyhorn, and kissing the machine...
they were very sweet gestures.
Blackjack does not simply go to a house and sleep safely... but I can hope for
her.
"Happyhorn Gardens: May all find peace and healing within." -
And I'm crying again... Happyhorn will always live on with me... I'll make sure
of it, somehow.
Again, Somber, thank you from the bottom of my heart for writing this story -
and another thank you to Mint for convincing you to keep this chapter. So much
would have been lost if you'd simply deleted it.
As for using the material from the season 2 finale - I still thought the
episodes were great, but I still didn't feel an overwhelming need for you to
try and integrate the material into PH. If you can get by without needing to
try and fit them in, then I'm happy for it being one less thing you'll need to
worry about. You can use as many fewer worries as you can get...
*hugs Somber*
Again, thank you, sir, and I'm very sorry this commentary took so long to finish.

Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion
"Your wall of text skill has increased to 17"
Yeah... incoming wall of text. And beware, it's made by a semi-cranky, tired, clothing-impaired, famished Swedish female thingamajig with a gecko on her head at 4 in the morning, so thread lightly.
You know, I just realized a kinda sad thing, the lame joke I did was
pretty much the most productive thing I did all day... (and again, as
usual, people just talk about the unimportant side things of my topics
xD)
Anyhow, it turns out I actually knew about "the thing". Just never heard that name of it, nor get why it is named that.
@Random: I personally dislike honey dip, (very closely to kinkie pie)
mostly since the artist doing said character does the "anatomy split" I
despise so badly, under-details the mares severely, plus, like so many
other has the "why bother/meh" attitude towards it. That, and the
character is pretty much the epiphany (?) of generic and bland in it's
area.
Speaking of random, I still facehoof over people using their own
arguments against them to argue against me (not here, elsewhere.
Basically the "bible logic loop" slander. Aka: our god exists since our
book says so - that's bullshit, you have no evidence for that book. We
in the other hand know our god exists since we have this book that says
so.", that's basically how intelligent their replies are. They can't
defend their PoV with the argument they are using against mine.)
@Wave: Semi-boo strategy I'd say, she far from lacked the adorableness
xD And I wanted to come up with some lame pun, but too tired atm.
As for Flutters, as far as I recall, she never was the direct
"caretaker" (doctor) of him. It kinda just popped up of nowhere that she
had agreed to be his date/escort to some something for no apparent
reason other than "some medically educated needs to be there to look
after him.", and like himself stated, she needed to be seen there, so
why the buck would he ask her out just so he could martyr himself when
he inevitably slumped down for the umpteenth time that week, instead of
just bringing a medical escort to start with. That doesn't seem very
well planned, at all. Unless as said, he just is a complete ass and only
plays on her pity and makes her feel guilty. Which would kinda conflict
with his "I don't deserve her.", or well, in a way, he can totally be
abusing her like he does (did) and still complain over not deserving
her.
Kinda the whole "there's a splinter in my foot, it hurts so bad... *5
miles later* oh, woe me! this splinter is hurting so bad! - Why don't
you take it out? - ... woe me! I have a splinter in my foot!". So yeah,
parts like that just seems so badly planned from the "genius" he now is.
So currently I'm torn between him abusing Fluttershy, using pity, guilt
trips and the like to keep her snared. Having an illogical relationship
for plot convince sake. And the last of there is yet some surprise out
of no where explanation coming up later.
And as said, the whole situation makes no logical sense. Fluttershy is
by doing what she is forced to do day in and day out, stress, take care
of sick and interact with "important" ponies, thus getting the rest she
needs and enough mental clarity and comfort to feel good enough about
herself to enter a serious, steady relationship? In which she decides to
even get a freaking foal in? To which I can just refer to the earlier
discussion about "ghoul" fertility. (who know exactly what state or
whatnot he is in, but some major internal mess up has been done. While I
fully know what the stockholm syndrome is. By those standards as said,
there would have been still several dozen ponies Fluttershy would have
gotten a hard-on, on. If we limit her down to having a huge fetish for
terminally ill, angsty/moody ponies in high position, it would likely
still leave a few... unless she now only has a thing for the specific
ailments and personality and whatnot he now fillls.
As for going a "she does everything she can". It seems somewhat OOC for
Fluttershy. Plus, I am against the idea that he was behind pretty much
90 % of all the things the mane 6, or Equestria as a while ever did. (of
the "important" things) And I can't recall exactly what interaction and
"tips" he gave Fluttershy, but I know it weren't exactly impressed by
them as to make her 1: In a good enough condition to take ALL those
steps she took to get to point Z. 2: Fall for him in the first place.
The "he helped us" seems like a very vague reason for causing a
determination of "I will become his marefriend and sleep with him for
this!". It kinda sounds like those girls that never has been catered to
in their entire lives, then someone compliments them, and they flip all
"Marry me!".
Dammit, I am trailing off here. But point being, he is responsible for
the biggest mistakes in her lives. (if I recall correctly, he gave her
the megaspell idea. I might be remembering wrong, since I do that from
time to time. But in which case, he would remind her of the fact she
used the idea she got from him, an idea that fucked up SO many things.
So running to the source of that idea (if now correct, I am possibly
miles off) for comfort seems counter productive. Unless one would be of
the type that seems Flutters as a perfect domestic abuse victim. He
causes her great pain and a mental breakdown, thus she naturally returns
to him for more. Like I am all around, she'd first have to be able to
handle wanting to do it, she'd need a reason to do it, see it as a good
idea, and overcome the fact he is a beacon of reminding her of tons of
bad thoughts. One of which being that not a single child survived, yet
he did. Point being, part of that reasoning puts Fluttershy as a "I am
willing to fuck my patients if so required!" position. (Aka: "I'll do
anything for you to get better... anything...", and that type of
Fluttershy doesn't fit well with me. I know she can be (but that's the
"I only need to roll a natural 20 5 times in a row? That's easy, great
odds on my side. Aka: Things with a very low probabilty, but done anyway
for the sake of plot convenience, some other reason or "because I feel
like it." Can randomly mention one of the most well known in about any
movie, fic or whatnot ever: Virgins and pregnancy. Virgins since the
chance to have a defunct hymen is a small minority. Yet it happens
almost always in any generic erotic whatever. And pregnancy since
there's (on average) a 2.5 % chance for pregnancy per insemination. et
it happens in almost every single damn movie that has the topic in it.
Only for the sake of the movie. I know it's "needed" for the movie, but
it's still the damn "rolling 100d6, all 6's" probability overall in the
long run.), or take a more "subtle" approach. But to me it just feels
like a pairing for the sake of wanting them paired.)
When it comes to Celestia though, I can see her with a personal guard,
that I can. Since they likely have a closer bond than just one that'd
remind her of the war. Somepony that's been there for her during all
these years... also oddly can see her as one of those that prefers to
solely pleasure others for pleasure. Avoiding to much detail as
promised, but I know you know what type I'm talking about. Her being
able to help somepony feel better without having to do anything
complicated or something, I dunno. But when it comes to FoE canon, all
but Dash is straight, which I find a bit boring tbh, Pinkie imo is way
to random to even have a sexual label. Pinkie Pie is Pinkiesexual.
*Exhale* Ugh... sorry for ranting. Feeling incredibly bipolar at the
moment... I just don't know how to react to the mess of moods/feelings
I've been in lately. And Somber, I'm not saying the pairing is
completely rubbish, just that it's very ... shallow? Or whatever to call
it. It'd need fleshing out, why would she be with him, what made her
even consider any of the choices she made, especially getting a foal.
What even that made either her make the advance, or made him swoon her
(or abuse her)... ok, just had a fourth random thing, it would partially
go against my brain, but, I could see Fluttershy sleep around with
quite a few ponies to "ease their pain", doesn't fit well with my head,
but it's still there... which could also come as an "excuse" to how
"his" daughter was made. (although, counting how weak/ruined the fetus
was, it could be an indication how hard it'd be for a "fertile" ghoul to
reproduce... actually, that fits oddly well with my current "2 % of the
ghouls" RPG rule. 2 % can, but they're always treated as a mare with 1
End and in "starving" condition.
*Cough* Anyhow. Point being, if not batting me on the head with a rolled up newspaper, telling me to go back to my cage, you could likely just ask the PH-discussion crew to hammer up some actually overall logical reason to why she actually did anything she did. Perhaps she's faking it all to be able to get close and spy on his plans on order by Luna to find out what double agent stuff he is doing? I dunno. In either case, going to go dry heave a bit, then slump down in bed with my fever and wait ~1 hour to fall asleep. And no, not after pity or whatnot, just stating I likely will be slow to reply due to this.
Also, I hope we hear from "you know who" soon, maybe he's just busy trailing off somewhere?
Oh yeah, also. Anyone saw the "A helping hoof" on EQD? I could really relate to one of those stories, with a few changes to it. One of which removing the last part of it hehe.
But yeah, anyhow, I will be avoiding talking for quite some time hopefully, I have made more than enough of a mess already.
Yeah... incoming wall of text.
