Yes, I do find myself liking quite a few of Michael Bay's movies. Contrary to what you've been getting from the positive feedback loops of like-minded wanna-be intellectuals on the internet, movies can actually be made to be a bit of light, fun entertainment.

I have never mentioned Metroid once in my time here, probably because I've never played any single one of the goddamn games. While I remember liking Sixth Sense, I didn't feel anywhere near as favorable about Unbreakable. It came out a while ago, but do you remember what you liked about it?

For me I think my biggest issue is it was just one huge origin story with no payoff.

It was supposed to be the origin story for a whole superhero series (but, all philosophical and shit) but that shit got cancelled even before Shamalan started sucking ass-juice-crusted monkey balls as a means to increase creativity. For what it was, though, it was a good movie.

I dunno if this is internalized sexism or some stuff like that, but generally I tend to assume people on the internet to be male unless either proven wrong, explicitly told otherwise, or when the mannerism / general presentation lead me to think the contrary.

Which is kind of funny in the last case when you learn that someone you assumed was a cis-girl is actually a pre-SRS MtF.

But anyway, thing is this view is rarely challenged. Though when I heard the reaction of my male colleagues when they learned there was a girl on the game they play online, I can understand if girls prefer to pass as male online.

Bit of old news, but apparently there exists some effort to try and remake all the roads in the U.S. with Solar Panels. Granted, innovation is cool, but it is going to be extremely expensive, especially when Mother Nature decides to give humanity the middle finger each season. Got there from a comment on how celebs do not always think things through, what with Joss Whedon and his comments recently on gamers.

Curious question, do you all use single or double space after ending punctuation? I used to do single, but now I am getting more accustomed to the double space.

Paving roads with solar cells, while cool as an idea, would be highly impractical.

- High cost per megawatt
- High envirronmental cost (producing and and then recycling the solar collectors at the end of their lifecycle, plus all the rare earths that need to be extracted from the environment first, an extremely polluting process)
- High maintenance needs (mechanical stress from all these cars driving on them)
- Very high initial investment

If you want to produce bulk energy from the sun, thermal solar is far more energy-efficient and cost effective. Otherwise, putting solar panels on buildings' roofs would give the same results as using roads.

More generally, the "secret" to solving the energy crisis lies in trying to diminish energy consumption first, and then to find ways to produce more energy from less.
