Re: Watch dogs
According to the info I found it resets 'Notoriety', which I assume equals to some multiplayer ranking system, and all skills related to Notoriety, which probably means it functions sort of like a level system unlocking new multiplayer-related skills.Last wrote:Maybe that's a multiplayer rank? But that kinda hurts the multiplayer if the ranks are skill based.
But it doesn't matter, as you said to each their own and all that.
That sounds like a load of bullshit from Ubisoft if true, but I haven't seen the game yet, so I can't tell for sure what it does.
Congrats.Katarn wrote:Speaking of which. Succesefully hacked and tailed two guys.

Not 'resets', detracts some protion of it for failing contract...though i belive no consiquenses for been hacked. BTW it says how much you will loose, when you accept contract..not sure if it says how much victim will loose, if you succeed.

I was talking about completely turning off the online mode (then turning it back on, then off again and so on).

Well, it's easy to figure out if someone is in your game. By pressing Esc - your game doesn't sets on pause.

Sure, but sometimes I may just not want people invading my game.

There is 'turn off invade' option in main menu for that ;)

Let's write it all at once instead of bits and pieces.Katarn wrote:There is 'turn off invade' option in main menu for that ;)
My issue was that, according to some pre-release info, this happens everytime you turn off the online mode.
That's what bugs me and what I'm interested in finding out, hence:

Yeah, it forces you. But. If you want to play SP first - there is no consiquences, your notoriety would be 0 either way. After finishing - you can turn that on. I know it forbids you from other online activity, but that's how it works.

Well that's kinda how I figured I'd play it if that were indeed the case.Katarn wrote:Yeah, it forces you. But. With online mode off, I would (logically) expect Notoriety to decrease over time rather than reset, but I suppose Ubisoft decided to be a dick.

Yeah, saw this one on Derpibooru.
Can anyone find this guy in-game and confirm whether it's legit easter-egg or just edit? Probably edit, but one never knows.

You see, it's not 'that guy' it's randomly generated stuff, you might never find this person or find few persons with same discription.

I suppose that makes sense, random generation adds diversity, not to mention making everyone manually would be lengthy.
Well, if anyone comes across someone with this description, let the thread know.

So with all the issues people have had apparently with the PC version and the supposedly poor optimalization for AMD machines, I'm gonna wait with buying Watch Dogs, at least until it's all sorted out.

Re: Watch dogs
I'd suggest for 1-2 month. According to Ubisoft my nVidia GTS 450 is below minimal req. Yet I was able to play on medium. But after ~2 hours of play game start showing up graphical glitches, oh well. You can 'cure' it by simply restarting the game.

Re: Watch dogs
Yeah, I have a PC that's quite powerful, and I have to put the graphics on medium-low for it to run kinda smoothly. It doesn't stop the game from lagging during car chases and high action sequences.
So yeah, piss poor optimization.

Or do like me and don't bother with so-called "AAA releases" and enjoy indie games, strategy games, and other things like that.

Meh, I never had a console and I'm not about to start with them.Katarn wrote:All hail 'either spend 8k$ on your PC or get new-gen console' era. <.<
And I'm not gonna buy a monster seven-times the price of a regular PC just because Ubisoft couldn't be bothered to optimize their super-hyped game released on 6 platforms.
Yeah, there are AAA strategy games too, just so you know. Now, if you could direct me to some indie games with nice story...Harmony Ltd. wrote:Or do like me and don't bother with so-called "AAA releases" and enjoy indie games, strategy games, and other things like that.
Also, Trixie in Watch Dogs, apparently.

Yes this is a huge fodder topic on the intertubes because not only does the old 2012 graphics look better they run smoother to. There are entire sections of graphical features turned off for consoles that they left off for the PC release.Aonee wrote:For all of you playing Watch_Dogs on the PC, someone fixed the graphics.
