For one thing, lots of ads disguise themselves as actual buttons of the site they're on, which can make navigation a bit of a minefield. For another, IIRC some find holes in the security of browsers to infect you just by being on a page that has them; this is rare, AFAIK, but a bad enough scenario that when you're on parts of the web that probably aren't admin'd by the brightest or most ethical people, you want to beware.

See, I always felt that the various Benders never used their powers creatively enough. If I were a Water Bender, I'd just move half the water in a person's body two feet to the left.

On the other side they could force water into their enemy's lungs. Not as intimidating as what you suggested but I wouldn't imagine it'd take much of it to incapacitate your enemy.

Are you talking about blood bending? I don't remember a mention of it outside of that. I very easily could be forgetting.

In any case I wasn't suggesting moving the water from some other part of the body into the lungs, I was suggesting forcing water in through the mouth and nostrils.

This. Pretty much all of this. It's happened to me before, both ways. Slipped before AND have caught shit just by visiting a page. I am bloody paranoid about the little bastards, and this is why I will NEVER get rid of adblock. Call me a bastard if you wish, but them's the breaks. Blame the fuckwads who create that malware-filled trash.

Oh and also, it's nice to not have to wait though ads for some things, and the benefit of slightly faster browsing from non-loaded ads, sooo...

Hey, the only two streams I watch with any regularity is TPP and LCS,  both of which don't run ads. I'd probably start disabling it if I ever watched someone regularly.

A number of websites, like some webcomics I won't name, have ads which on smartphone redirect you to another page as soon as they load, rendering browsing those sites next to impossible.

So fuck that "internet freeloader" bullshit. Call me back when the internet isn't so fucked up anymore.

I use this all the time to reduce bandwith, though I do have a few exceptions to sites I frequent to support them. Worst part is that I can't use this at work, so random ads can sometimes blare speakers, and it gets awkward.

Well, that and they were all taught the 'wrong' method of firebending. In the sequel they seem to be skilled enough to use Lightning for a mundane purpose. Wonder if firebenders can absorb heat, i.e. make an area icy. Also wonder if waterbenders can walk on water without turning it into ice.

Last night, while I was alone with my mind, I was imagining being challenged to spontaneously generate a campaign for a roleplaying game, with a setting taken from scratch. And I actually started pulling it off.

And now I have yet another setting, a fantasy one this time, running into my mind, begging me to be fleshed out.

Shit. It even tries to convince me it has potential.

Should I divert computing time to it When I have already the FoE setting to flesh out? Y/N?

No, no, don't bother, I know: it offers a good reason as to why the statu-quo is maintained, while leaving the possibility that things may change drastically if some new elements (read: player or NPC actions) were to be added to the board.


But heh, at least I have magically powered mechs, combat mages, and megaspell facilities.
